It actually been several years since my wife and I left the Mississippi Gulf Coast for a road trip to Western U S. The visit to Bunkhouse remains one our favorite stops. We met there with Cheyenne residents Tim Simmons, Joe and Susie Ruxton and several others. What a delightful evening…great food, service, music and atmosphere. Watching the ranchers come in with spurs on their boots, after a hard days work, and absorbing what the evening had to offer was a sight to see. Sadly, Tim passed away a few years ago and the Ruxton’s moved to Florida (still see them ever year at the CWS in Omaha) we’re looking forward to our next visit to the Bunkhouse next Summer. Prime rib was tuff and loaded baked potato didn’t come with butter or sour cream. Was disappointed with the meal because of all the good reviews. The other meal was chicken fried steak and it was good. That was the cheapest meal

Passing through and discovered this jewel on Travel Advisor. Speaking of jewel, I had their signature sandwich, The Bunk Nut…amazing flavor on perfectly toasted bread. My wife had the Reuben and said it was one of the best she’s had. We each had a local beer, the Saddle Bronc to wash them down. Everything was amazing including our server Vici. Hopefully we will make it back. Atmosphere was definitely Old West.

Little more than adequate roadhouse fare, but it’s competently done, friendly, lots of character, super cool remote/rural location, and very cheap.

Nice people, decent atmosphere, but prices are extremely high for quality and quantity of food. Chicken fried steak should be a local speciality. Theirs comes frozen in a box. They had a seafood special but ran out of several items, yet didnt reduce the $30 price tag, just gave us less food than the people at the table next to us.

I cannot say enough about this place! Friends took me there over the weekend..my mind was blown. Amazing Atmosphere full of amazing people. Staff treats you as if you have been there your whole life. Food was great and very good deal for your $$! Thank you Sonya, Terry and Carry (Kerry?) ...you ladies made my night and I can't wait to visit again!

Stopped in while traveling through and glad we did. It was a Saturday night a few weeks ago and had a blast dancing to the band. Great menu, good food, stiff drinks and awesome staff. Everyone was very friendly to us out of towners returning from a ski trip. Will make a special point to visit next time we’re nearby! Thanks for the fun night!

Looking for prime rib after finishing business at the base. Found Bunkhouse on line. A particular One-Star review (claiming that the women were all gossips and other hilarious stuff) among many 5 star reviews made me laugh so hard I just HAD to go check this out. We had Prime Rib with appetizer of nuts and poppers ... it was really really good food !! Had a great Mango beer and fun atmosphere. We didn't pay attention if any of the women were gossiping, though, but I did point out that review to the server and we all had a laugh. We live 60 miles away and will probably make the drive to eat here again.

Great steaks and fun atmosphere. The live music is amazing. Great fun for the whole family. We look forward to going there any time we are in Cheyenne.

We stopped here as a family and it was fine. Nothing special, but ok for a meal. Prices were average, but not a large selection by way of steak. Wife and I both ordered the sirloin. It was a good sized steak, but over seasoned (pepper). We both ordered medium, came out medium well. some parts well. But it was pretty tender for being overcooked, so must be good quality meat. The kids enjoyed their meals, not any complaints there, so that was good. They gave me a LOT of fries, but I was hoping for steak fries, instead they have just regular "Wendys" fries. Lots of broken, smaller pieces, not even long one piece. The waitress was nice, friendly, but she failed to offer drink refills. All told, you're going for the drive, and for the ambiance, not necessarily food. Sorry to say I would choose Texas Roadhouse over these guys.
