We were in the dells for a quick weekend getaway. It was my birthday and we wanted to hit up an indoor water park for the kids and myself to enjoy. Coming from out of town, we natural had to check out the local dining reviews to get the best we could get.As a tourist, let me say Monks does not disappoint. In a town full of gimmicky places and over some under delivered menu options, Monks is true to its word. It's good food. Plain and simple. Lots of different options for those picky eaters and everything was good. I also found it to be one of the more reasonably priced places, especially being on the main strip. They played good music and the staff were all very friendly. We went there twice over this weekend we liked it so much.Don't trust me, give it a shot!
Ordered burgers medium well, specifically said don't want bloody meat but both burgers were. French fries & tots were cold & the place was not busy on Tuesday at 3:00 so person cooking needs to time food better. A burger will only be average without a great bun, your buns need improvement! Waitress was friendly, did a good job. We were less than impressed with our 1st time eating here but after sitting at the ballpark for 6 hours in the extreme heat, we were hungry & just wanted to eat & start the drive home.
We were just wandering around and noticed one of their house drinks. Stopped in to give it a try! It was delicious!This location was rather small, but discovered a full location not far from the bar we stopped at.It was loud and conjested, but you could expect nothing less from a bar on a Saturday night!Server was prompt and friendly.Food was delicious as well!The French fries are amazing!
We stop here every time we're in the Dells. Service has always been good, as has the food. Nice selection of beers.
Very friendly service, clean establishment, many tvs for sport watching and plenty of good beer choices. Food was okay, nothing great. I was really hoping the burgers were going to be better.
Great burgers! We’ve been to the OG Monk’s a number of times. The place has great character and has maintained its hometown pub feel. The blue cheese burger was amazing. Fries are great. Pricing is 100% reasonable. Service was good. Friendly atmosphere. A must stop when in downtown Dells.
It’s always a pleasure eating at Monks. The burgers are great. The beer is always cold. The service is always on point. The monkey fries are delicious! This is my go-to spot to have a quick beer, or two, or six and a bite to eat while on the strip. Nothing else compares. If you are in downtown Wisconsin Dells, stop here. It’s a little on the small side and is not situated for larger groups but they may be able to work something out. If you want the same great food and service, but have a larger group, check out their other location in front of Wilderness Resort, about 10 minutes away. Thumbs way up. ??
We LOVE Monk’s! This is the original Monk’s location. People have always been very kind and attentive. Food is very good. Old Fashion’s, amazing. Wine at this location needs a bit of work; however, zero complaints!
Stopped in today for lunch. Even though the place was almost completely full, we snagged 2 seats at the bar. The bartender was very friendly and efficient. Gave us just the right amount of time to decide we’d have what we always have when we go here. Burgers of course! Everything was excellent as usual.
Only people in bar which was great a nice quiet Sunday night ! The server was great! My sons burger was so yummy! We had cheese curds and drinks! Purple monkey will get you funky! Have one and you’ll be having a great night ! We got the shirt and cup special! Both purple ! I would definitely buy for keep sake!
