Taste: 5/5. When I visited I had the egg and cheese and blueberry cream cheese danishes which were both delicious. All of their baked goods looked wonderful and they had a better balance of sweet and savory options than other bakeries that I’ve been to.Service: 5/5. While their inside dining was closed due to staffing issues, the seating next door and the surrounding area were both cute. Their staff were kind and even provided recommendations.Vibe: 5/5. Although I’m sure being able to enter the bakery would have improved my experience, there’s nothing wrong with a walk-up local bake shop.Cost: 4/5. The food that we purchased here was delicious, but could have been cheaper on a dollar-to-calorie basis. Not somewhere I’d eat at every weekend, but perfect for a once-in-a-while treat.Nice people, nice looking, and most importantly: nice tasting. Just a Nice bake shop.
This used to be such a wonderful place. While the cookies were still wonderful, the sandwiches were overpriced and underwhelming. The side salad, was just lettuce. The wait time too long and staff not friendly. I think the times have taken their toll.
1. most critical to me is customer service and then the quality of the food; they are kind humans. However, their delivery service is horribly long. It takes 2 hours for a delivery of your food to go out within a 4 mile radius, I live less than a mile away. It's utterly ridiculous. So when trying to order from GrubHub instead, they don't release the whole menu to grub hub, so you can't order what you want for faster delivery.UPDATE: upon asking about GrubHub or UberEats, apparently the company doesn't want to use those services because they have their own delivery driver, which is limited to a 4 mile radius and takes hours to get your food. Again, not helpful to your customer base. You could consider making your delivery driver strictly wholesale orders and use social delivery services for individual food orders to accommodate your customers. Just a thought.2. The food: the baked items aren't flavorful IMO, so in this case, to each their own, but the signature blueberry muffin tasted like a bad shortbread cookie and all the blueberries are at the bottom of the muffin, not dispersed throughout and their cookie was mealy. Also, they both lacked sweetness.3. Their breakfast sandwich is why I come back. Oh and the Cinnamon plum tea is wonderful, but don't sacrifice closing a lid properly to leave the tail end of the tea bag out; thankfully I was wearing a waterproof jacket when it spilled all over me!4. Also, on busy days they frequently get the order wrong.5. Overall, it's an okay spot, for some you can tell they love it...
I've had Rocket Baby's bread for years and it's always been great but recently I've tried their croissants, danish, morning bread, muffins, babka and tropezienne. Oh my god. I'm obsessed. I want to order pastry every week now. They are so freaking good. The tropezienne, I've never heard of but it has the lemon custardy filling in the center and I can't even tell you how good it was. I went somewhere else and I got a danish and it was disgusting. Rocket Baby has officially ruined pastries from anywhere else for me. They just aren't on the same level as Rocket Baby.
I love their variety of sweet and savory pastries! I havent found anything I dislike. They have really good sandwiches and beverages.
There breakfast sandwich is a thing that i can't get out of my mind. Super tasty. Fresh bakery and solid coffee.
I found this bakery shortly after moving to the area and I love everything I have gotten there! I highly recommend the lattes, rotating flavors of danish, sourdough bread, and the grilled cheese sandwich. I take my young grandson there and it’s been perfect during the pandemic to be able to get our items and then play at the adjoining pocket park. The staff is top notch, too!
I will start out by saying their products are great. The caveat is that they have largely not been available for over a month now. Ordered online on 12/11 and received an email that my order was ready for pickup. When I walked over I was told they don't have the items available that I ordered, which is pretty disappointing considering they sent me an email saying it was ready. This is the 3rd time in 4 weeks I have had a similar experience. The cashiers point to the labor shortage while the bakery across the street isn't missing a beat. There used to be lines every weekend morning at Rocket Baby, but each of the last two weekends I was able to walk right up to the window with no line. Hope they can get their internal staffing issues addressed and can return to having product regularly.
Their bread is second to none and the curbside service is really swell. Great location and plenty of space to enjoy a coffee and croissant in the sun!
Talk about a great breakfast sandwich and a great regular sandwich! This is a great local bakery with fresh bread and pastries, coffee, and sandwiches. We have enjoyed the ham or bacon with egg breakfast sandwich as well as the turkey club a couple of times and both are well worth the trip. They also have really good orange juice. Definitely worth checking out and for much more than the few things that we have tried.
