Best pasta in Milwaukee, creative and authentic! Can’t recommend enough!! Also, they left a customized birthday card for my wife which was the nicest touch!
Order everything seasonal, it will not disappoint. The pasta was fresh and delicious. The mock tails were tasty. And the service was top notch. Highly recommend over and over again.Hands down best pasta in Milwaukee.
This place is ridiculously good. Holy schneikies! I got the morel pasta and there was seriously at least one mushroom in every bite. Usually restaurants put like 3 little shavings of morels on their stuff but these guys frickin' fill the plate. My wife got the trout and that was out of control too! We got apps and cocktails and everything was amazing. My favorite thing about this place is they have an Amaro cart. I'm a huge dork and love a good digestif after dinner in lieu of dessert so this just made my whole day. The service is amazing as well. If you don't mind shelling out a little coin for a fantastic dining experience, definitely get your buns over there asap!
A true gem in the area - Ca’Lucchenzo is unique, they prepare fresh pasta, breads, and cheeses right in front of you. They’ve curated an incredible and comprehensive wine selection from every major region in Italy, and the hospitality measure up to those of even the finest restaurants.Amanda was our server for the night, she recompensed a wine that would pair well with our dinners, suggested small plates and entrees that were divine, and never let our glasses fall below half-full.The hours old mozzerella was divine, and plated to perfection with focaccia and greens that came together in a perfect medley of flavor. The entire experience was spectacular, and we will be back soon!
I was excited to try this newer restaurant.I can tell you I didn’t get to try anything because, I have to eat a gluten free diet. After ordering drinks , I was told this isn’t the restaurant for you by my server.I was to shocked to even respond, because I would of been happy with risotto and a few vegetables.I have never been treated so rudely, so my husband and I left.Would never, ever go back….
We had a extraordinary dinner and will be back. The ingredients are all top notch and every plate we had was delicious. The service was exceptional. Ordered the goat cheese crostini, prosciutto, egg noodles and mushrooms pasta and the rainbow trout. Finished the evening with cappuccinos and pistachios mousse. Definitely a dinner to remember.
Last night we had reserved two spots at the bar at one of our absolute favorite restaurants in Milwaukee Wisconsin. Ca’Lucchenzo is owned and run by Sarah and Zak Baker, a beautiful couple who have been a winning restaurant Team in the MKE dining scene for many many years. The atmosphere of the restaurant is so welcoming and loving; we enjoy the fact that the staff has stayed with this duo for the entire time of this restaurant and has survived the pandemic quite gracefully. At the bar we had a fantastic team of Amanda and Amanda :-) Anthony and Julie are favorite servers, and we are biased! Our order is as follows: Focaccia Della Casa Asparagi Bianchi in Vinaigrette Main~~ Agnolotti Di Caprino Cocktail~~Ketel Citron-Up & Carlina Negroni Starter STANDOUT - Arancino Al Cuore Di Fonduta All Zak Baker and His Kitchen Team. Italian red with the meal ~~ 608 Cos Rosso. Sarah makes her own tiramisu and we enjoyed in an Averna to finish. WOW. Then we headed to the famous The Rave concert venue on Wisconsin Avenue (mentioned on the series Atlanta, as a haunted venue!), and saw the band Spoon. Outstanding April Saturday night.2022.
I have eaten here twice in recent weeks. The food and service are just outstanding. They have done a nice job with renovating the space. The menu changes almost daily and is inventive, authentic, ambitious. Everything I have eaten has been excellent. This is definitely the best Italian restaurant in the region.
I went here last evening for dinner with three of my girlfriends. Service was top notch and our server was very knowledgeable about the dishes as well as the wine list. The bottle of wine we ordered was great with our dishes. I ordered the goat cheese crustone, which was good as well as the aracini, which was smaller than expected and somewhat underwhelming in flavors. We ordered the bread for the table, which for $6 could have included some different dips (various olive oils, balsamic, etc) to make it seem more elegant and worth the cost. They were out of two of the pasta dishes that were desired by our party, which further limited an already small menu. I ordered the scallops, which for $38, I believe should have included a starch (4 scallops with endive and radicchio was not exactly impressive to me for $38, nor filling. Some risotto would have been a nice addition to this dish). The pasta my friends ordered was good, but servings were small. The bill was $240 before tip for a party of 4 and we left hungry and overall unimpressed. No one in our party was "wowed" and we left feeling a little bummed about the experience. I had really high hopes based on the high ratings and was really excited to try this place, but I will not return, nor would I recommend this place to my peers.
I'm just going to review the two items that I had. For a main course, Pappardelle al Ragù di Carne & for dessert, Frittelle di Semola. The pasta tastes fine but the dish consists almost entirely of noodles. The pasta sauce has almost no meat. Odd considering carne is in the description. A bit misleading to say the least. The ratio in my dish was probably 95% noodles & 5% ground pork. For $26, the sauce needs to have more meat - it's a really simple fix for management to consider. Otherwise you end up pretty bored of the dish after 10 bites. Meat adds variety. The donuts offered as a dessert item were served cold (probably should be warmed up) and lack any memorable quality to be honest. I'd suggest customers try something else. I'm sure the other desserts were much better.Middle of the road experience overall. I would imagine a lot of the 5 star reviews on here are cognitive dissonance. The "I spent a ton, therefore It MUST have been good" thought process. I just didn't experience anything super remarkable - and I spent a lot which is frustrating.
