The Blueberry stuffed French toast bake! Fabulous!
Great service, friendly staff, delicious food, fun atmosphere
We really enjoyed our brunch. The collectibles in the restaurant brought back many memories. Great service and food!
Went to have some brunch on a busy Sunday, lady asked for a name, said she’ll put us down on the list, and that they just have to clean a table. 10 minutes goes by and 3 larger parties get seated just to find out we were never put on the list. It’s fine, it’s busy so we understand. We get seated, our orders taken, and our food arrives. Waitress asked us if we needed anything and I said ketchup. That was the last time we saw our server the entire hour we were there and ketchup was never brought to the table. Had to take the rest of my meal to go and finish it at home. Would not come here again. Food was mediocre at best.
Sadly, this restaurant was a disappointment on all accounts. My wife and I ordered the Belgian and Country Benedict with sides of crispy bacon and coffee. The coffee was weak and watered down and as someone who loves flavorful coffee, this was not that. The bacon we ordered crispy, was not. The Benedicts were bland and almost tasteless and left me wondering if there’s salt in the kitchen at all. The waffle for the Belgian Benedict was soggy in an instant from the hollandaise, which had no distinguishable flavor. Lastly, the hash browns for the Country Benedict were barely cooked and we’re still mostly pale in color and without seasoning. When paying the bill and asked how everything was, I couldn’t get myself to say good or fine. So I was honest and said none of it was good. The woman helping me told me to wait a moment and went to talk to the owner to see if there was anything they could do. The owner bluntly said no, had the full amount charged, and didn’t have the courtesy of coming up and saying anything to us.Bottom line, if you’re looking for a delicious breakfast spot, The Wooden Chair is not that restaurant.
Prices were good for amount of food you get. Food & Coffee were good. Wasnt busy. My husband is very fast eater & I am slow eater, plus I have slight case of bels palsey, which makes bit harder for me to eat, he was already done w/his food, as I was starting my second pancake & our server comes out & asks me as I'm going to take a bite of my food if I wanted a box. What? I tried explaining I'm a slow eater & she interrupts me saying she wasn't trying to rush us out & she's leaving our bill, well that's exactly what it felt like to both my husband & I. I know she picked on fact she had ticked me off. When I finally finished my food, it was challenging to get to register, there were 2 tables in front of it w/5-8 people @ each table, forcing me to climb behind the people & table that was partially in front of register & bakery case, so it'd be nice if those tables could be moved slightly to allow better access to register.
Amazing food and staff. The food is all made from scratch and delicious and they offer gluten free options!
This restaurant hands down, is the best anywhere, inside and outside of WI. The food is clean and fresh with large quantities. The Omlettes are fluffy and full of flavor Then you have the customer service. Top notch staff. Friendly and extremely hard workers. We have been going to Wooden Chair for years. Can’t wait to go this weekend. I would give this restaurant a 10 + out of 10. Thank you Carrie! We appreciate you and your wonderful restaurant!?? Mike and Cyndi ?
Delicious food. Very nice wait staff. Will definitely be back
I love when they have sweet breakfast specials (pancakes, French toast). Have yet to try the savory. Their banana pancakes and Monte Christo are some of my regular menu go-to items.
