Impromptu visit and my wife and I are glad we did! Swanky (not too), urban feel (still cozy) and food served tapas style. Menu runs the gamut but the food integrity stays on point. We had the crispy pork belly, jambalaya, wings (piping hot), tres leches cake and thin mint cheesecake. Perfect portion sizes— so if you’re looking for Midwest massive, prob not the place. Servers and host are warm and friendly from the jump. Not bad when everything from Waupaca to Amherst was closed. We’ll be back ;)

Let’s start with what was good. Customer service was great. Food came out at good times. We never had to ask for water. The not so good: The food was plain. Gumbo was way too salty. The “sharing” plates were very small portions. We had the pork belly and the pork belly was smoked and good but it was served over rice noodles and that had no flavor at all. The beef tips were not as described. It tasted and looked like pot roast. The firecracker shrimp had great flavor. The sushi was, ok, pretty salty as well. Walleye was salty as well. Oysters were good and well presented. Oyster tacos had good flavor as well. Don’t get me wrong, we were excited for the experience and an experience it was. The atmosphere was good it just wasn’t as expected based on other reviews. Sharing portions were not sharing portion sizes. The group left hungry. Glad we got to finally try it out but unfortunately, we won’t be back. Yours truly, Lor

First timer and very impressive with the setup. Food was well paired with sides for main dishes and everything flowed well flavor wise……definitely will be back sometime.

Dinner date with a group of 5 and we had a wonderful experience at Father Fats. We tried 10 menu items and everything was beautifully plated and tasted amazing. Our waiter, Justin, was also terrific. My drink recommendation = “OMG it’s a Chinatown with whiskey instead of vodka”. It was sooooo good!

Love this place. Have been here numerous times and it never disappoints. They always have a delicious appealing menu, with something new and fresh to try. Order a couple things for the table and enjoy!

Great place, even more fantastic staff. Got 3 dishes plus dessert for each of us to feed 2 total! Duck was okay but worth trying once, I would recommend the scallops because they're like butter! Love that dishes change often here to keep it interesting.

We were able to sit down right away even though it was very busy. The food was very good, maybe a little pricey, but not lacking in quality.

We've visited a few times, however the last time we went will more than likely be the final time. Not only was there a table of exorbitantly loud, drunk women yelling so obnoxiously we couldn't hear ourselves think, our food was cold, and the shrimp tasted like it had been soaked in clorox. My husband ended up getting ill from the lamb meatballs.Sad, I really liked this place the prior times we went, but this was just too much for us to try again.

Everytime we have been here the variety of items to choose from is amazing as it will appeal to anyone's taste buds. Most importantly the food is presented well and tastes amazing, we have never had a bad tasting items from their frog legs to flatbreads, etc, etc. We continue to go here again and again it is that good.

My adult life, I have lived in larger cities with exceptional restaurants. But when I visit my hometown of Stevens Point, I always look forward to eating at Father's Fats. I have never been disappointed. They offer about 30 different small plates with a great variety of choices from seafood, meats, vegetables or pastas. You order has many plates until everyone is full. Everything I have ever ordered has been exceptional so don't worry about what you order. Each plate will give four people a nice portion to eat. The restaurant has an industrial decor which is nice but too loud for my preference - you need to talk very loud to hear the people you are with. The bar is a remodeled old A&W ice cream stand. The wait staff is very nice but you go there for the wonderful delicious variety of food. How did Point get this first class big town restaurant? I think love had something to do with it.
