My wife and I just had the best evening as far as food and drinks at the Black Pig . We usually eat at the bar , the service was spot on could not have been better . My wife was treated to the bake Halibut with roasted figuring potatoes . I was treat to the best meal I have experienced anywhere, Lamb Meatballs out of this world . Then being served by Michael , by far the best bartender we have every enjoyed being served by . We just tell him to make something and his drink are out of this world and very pleasant to drink . Michael you are the best bartender we have ever had to experience to meet . Cheers !!!
Mother's Day Brunch = not good + ripoff.Seated late for a reservation, which you could probably deal with, but the overall experience was terrible. Each adult is $38.95 with no coffee or juice included. Drinks arrived after we had eaten. Water arrived after we had started eating. No problem with the waitstaff, but the management had clearly overbooked for the staff they had. Decent omelet station. Food was very banquety. So very average for an all-exclusive $17.95 buffet, but it was more than 2x that cost.
Good food, friendly service
They catered our son's sports banquet and I thought the food was delicious and flavorful. We were in the upstairs dining hall and it was well-suited for parties and venues such as ours. I'd definitely dine there again.
Great food and atmosphere!
I went there summer of 2021 with my friend, and the food was good even though a little bit on the pricey side. And we decided to go back last weekend on my girls trip. And it was quite a different experience! It's very nice inside however the food took forever to get we where quite hungry. I ordered what my dear friend had last time cause she remembered how wonderful it was. And I thought can't wait to try it!!! But to my amazement my salad looked like weeds you would not want in your garden with some awful dressing on top of it. I can't even explain the taste it was quite strange. There where just a tiny bits of something not sure if veggies??? Also I wanted some meat ? thought that would be great too since my beloved friend said how good the pork bellies where. And well what meat it was hardly cooked or I think it was supposed to be fried. In any event it was pure FAT CUBES that almost made be sick and did in a way. The bread was as hard as a rock too. I finally flagged my waitress down and told her this's a nasty salad can't eat it just get me a hamburger. Meanwhile I sat there hungry waiting for that burger that I wanted cooked Well Done and was not had pink in it. My friends felt really bad for me of course, one of them as well didn't care for her special of the day, but she can do her own review!!! Our waitress was very nice however something has changed at the Black Pig. I'm sure the cooks they have there now are different just not anyplace that we will be returning too!!!
Was super excited to be bringing out of town guests with us to the Black Pig. I made a reservation for a certain time, confirmed it, all good. We arrive early, said we'll sit at the bar and wait, but they told us our table wouldn't be ready until thirty minutes after the time for which I made the reservation. Thankfully the amazing hostess seated us right away. Problem averted, however that was when our server problems started. She was not friendly, did not want to take time answering questions about the menu or the drinks or the appetizers. She kept saying she'll come back to the table when we're ready to decide. The small bite plate of brie was barely a small bite, two crustini's with a bit of brie, and the shared plate of brussel sprouts and whatever else was in it was put on the table in a dish with nothing to serve it with or on. No serving utensil and no cracker or chip or anything. The unfortunate part was the server, she made the whole experience unpleasant. Did not ask if we wanted other drinks after our first drink, did not come back after giving us the receipts to sign, did not thank us and did not know her drink menu. The worst part was she got annoyed that we couldn't hear her because she was wearing a mask. We had to ask her to speak louder at least 3-4 times and she was not happy about that either. People with hearing issues, don't go here.
We had a large group. The service was top notch as well as the food. The menu had vegetarian & gluten free options and some of your nontraditional foods. Great atmosphere. Highly recommend
I wish they kept the cooks they had last year.... my friend had a terrible version of the one wonderful salad I had the year before... My sandwich was just ok... the bread was very old and crumbling.... and the meat was dry with not enough sauce on it. The waitress was wonderful and overworked. I realize what a lot of people are saying that this is all because of covid there's not enough workers there's not enough et cetera.... But we have to live beyond all of this and we have to stick to our standards of quality I really loved this salad last year that my friend ate and was really gross this year as well as my sandwich was terrible and I know they probably were better last year... I'm not the kind of person to write bad reviews but I hope that the owner of the restaurant will be able to find better people more committed people to cook good dishes. I'm sure it's disappointing that their recipes are being destroyed by really bad cooks and that they have very little help and are stretching thin very good waitresses.... PLEASE get better cooks and go back to lower prices.... prayers for your restaurant!
Great dinner destination in downtown Sheboygan. Nice atmosphere. Service is always excellent. Many delicious menu options . Would recommend as a good destination for a dinner out with spouse or friends.
