The two of us so enjoyed the leisurely Saturday night dinner of pasta, bread, salad, wine/beer, and dessert (of course). The servings are very generous, so expect leftovers! I wanted my pasta with an olive oil and garlic sauce, which they were more than willing to accommodate. There was even grappa available for after dinner.
Had an unfortunate experience with takeout. We're in Racine on vacation. Called and placed an order for two pizzas and two pasta entrees for our family. Was told 25 minutes. Awesome! Rushed over there and walked in 25 minutes later. Was told will be another 10 minutes. No big deal. 15 more mins went by, then was told another 10. Seemed like they hadn't started the order yet. Place was moderately busy but not slammed. They just kept pushing us off. Decided I was going to leave when it was an hour past when they said (85 minutes total), but then they came rushing out with the order. Pizza was good, pasta was fine, they gave us salad instead of soup and forgot sauce on one of the pastas. No discount or no other consideration for having to sit there for an hour. Dang.
I've heard such good things about the place, but was really disappointed my first time there. My husband and I ordered a pan pizza. The waitress came back about half an hour after we had ordered to let us know the cook added black olives on the whole thing (we don't eat black olives period). So we asked for a new one to be made and we'd take it to go.We were there for an hour and a half! Luckily they gave yummy, hot, fresh bread with a meal to hold us over. The waitress was super nice, attentive, sincerely apologetic and took some money off the bill. When we finally returned home to eat, we were let down that our pizza had very little to no sauce. There was literally so many bare spots with no sauce, the very little sauce there was, was mostly along the crust. Without sauce, the pizza was extremely bland, not to mention how little amount of toppings they had put on it!We will, however, return to try a new dish and give it a second chance, but I strongly don't suggest getting the pizza. I hope our next experience will "wow" us and show us why we've heard such good things about Salute. ?
Warm, welcoming atmosphere. Large variety of actually authentic dishes, ranging from pizzas to gnocchi. Waited for about two minutes to be seated on a Friday night, and the service was fast and pleasant. 100% would go back.
I’ve been to this restaurant a numerous of times. The food is ALWAYS excellent the customer service is AWESOME!! I give this place 10 stars one of Racine’s Gems!! A must try if you never ever have!!!
Nice atmosphere, loved the music in the background. Friendly service.
Ordered two pizzas for take out (at 5:47) Told it would be 25 minutes. Arrived at 6:15. Was rung up at 6:20. Pizzas were cold. I live 1 mile from this restaurant, I thought maybe the boxes were just thick. The pizzas (although one was clearly over cooked) were cold. The topping didn’t reach the edge of the crust. It was thin crust although I had specifically said I didn’t want thin crust. Still we were hungry. I warmed it in the microwave but still found it to be inedible. I called, they at first said it was picked up late. Then they said they would give me a gift certificate. I drove back up stood for ten minutes without service. A person who may have worked there but was sitting on the customer side of the bar asked if I had a to go order- I said no that I had called about an order (not trying to bad mouth to patrons) I then gave up and left without anything. Terrible pizza, terrible service. Great ambiance though.
Solid place. Good old school atmosphere. Appetizers weren't anything earth shattering but good for the price. Extremely cheap! Pizza was very good! We got the thin crust, I recommend getting garlic on it! Considering all the food we got and a couple glasses wine, it was very cheap! Our waitress was very polite and helpfull!
I placed a to go order for mozzarella cheese sticks with your lovely and always pleasant Aneka( hope I spelled that correctly). They are usually cooked perfect. However this time they were all under done.
Went here with fiance and parents for a casual, yet nicer evening. Place was packed and I was glad we had reservations. Portions were generous. I remember someone had veal piccata and someone else had broccoli-chicken-rigatoni (?) in cream sauce. Both very good and taken home for leftovers. Atmosphere was casual and lively but it didn't seem too loud. High ceilings may have helped. Some folks were dressed a little nicer (clearly enjoying the evening) and others were ultra casual. A good choice for a tasty meal.
