We walked into the restaurant and music from the 1950s and 60s was playing in the background. This is the atmosphere of a long-ago supper club. My wife and I shared a prime rib dinner. She had the salad as a first course, I had the onion soup. This was absolutely the best prime rib I have had in a decade and that includes one that I had in Alberta Canada. The meat was flavorful and cooked to perfection. We shared a huge baked potato too and a bottle of Malbec wine. Excellent food and excellent service. We looked at the desserts but were just too stuffed, they looked delicious. The price was very reasonable for a quality meal. One final note: I noticed one reviewer complaining about the price of lobster. I live on the east coast and can tell you for a fact that the price of lobster is up considerably everywhere from Nova Scotia to Florida, there are a lot of factors but fuel prices is one of them. I'm going to Maine next month and I know what to expect.
The restaurant was clean and the waitress was competent. Most of the meal was fine until the 1 pound lobster tail arrived smelling "fishy". Never in all my years of cooking lobster has it smelled like fish. It was not cooked properly and had numerous black spots in it. Then to add insult to injury they charged $129 . I know when you eat out you pay for the experience of being waited on but come on. $129 for a tail that they only paid $30 for it crazy. We have not been to the restaurant for almost 20 years and won't ever go back. Buyer beware
The Food here is always top notch. That is not what this review is about. I want to commend the service. We were there on a Sunday night to celebrate my birthday on 4/10. Our server was Hannah a student working on a Marketing Degree at UWM. According to her, she was relatively new with a month on the job or so. She was absolutely fantastic: personable, talkative, interested/interesting, knowledgeable and super interested to offer the best service available. She did a great job and should be recognized accordingly by the management, By the way, we all had prime rib for dinner, all prepared properly.
Corner House On the Lake is a wonderful restaurant. Take the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing evening with thoughtful, excellent service. The menue is varied with something to surely please everyone. I've had many excellently prepared meals here, and look forward to many more. Can't wait to try the Berkshire Pork Chop

Called yesterday to inquire about placing a to go order for today. Was told to call today at 5pm to place an order for 5:45 pickup. Called over and over for 30 minutes as we drove there with no answer. Assumed maybe their ringer was off… Nope, they’re closed for their company Christmas party. Why tell us to call tomorrow if you’re not going to be opened. See title above…
650$ spent in one sitting for 7 of us. lobster was way overcooked. mashed potatoes seemed old.or overmashed and had no garlic like claimed. waitress took forever to come back to our table and didnt stick around long enough to get us what we needed. i was missing a side with my meal and it wasnt brought out till she started to box our food up. cocktails had missing garnish half the food including was to salty.couldnt even finish the french onion soup it was so salty. staff seemed overworked and disoriented. prices are way to high for the low quality of service and food we will not be coming back!
From the food to the drinks to the atmosphere to the servers, all were fantastic. Started out the evening with a nice little loaf of warm bread; then came our smooth yet strong drinks. The French onion soup in a crock was worth a few extra bucks. Our walleye and prime rib were perfect. You must try the garlic whipped potatoes. Simply wonderful. We had an attentive server and an enjoyable evening.
My family and I went in tonight for a birthday dinner! Taylor, our sever, was excellent. The food was amazing! Highly recommend
