This place is great for carnivores, vegetarians and vegans. We can eat in harmony as they have options for us all.Here is my review of each item in the photo: top left- vegan chorizo Milwaukee style. Curds on top, phenomenal, vegan chorizo, my favorite of all the non- meat sausages by far and AND it’s all topped with homemade chiz whiz, get outta here! 10/10Top right: vegan loaded fries, these babies are LOADED and delicious. I’d recommend wearing a bib because things are about to get messy 9/10 Bottom left: chili crisp fried cauliflower because health. I truly love everything at this place but this is on the lower level for me. It was still good but after a night of cocktails cauliflower isn’t always what the heart wants 7/10Bottom right: the BEST thing on the menu, baked potato balls. If you get anything here it needs to be these balls! They are amazing, great to share and can be made vegetarian. Get them in your mouth already sheesh 100/10In conclusion,Vanguard has great specials, delicious food for all, fun cocktails and when in season the out door patio is lovely.If this is torture, you can chain me to the wall.
The food, staff, prices, atmosphere, and drink selection is incredible. I will be visiting every time I make it up to Milwaukee! Absolutely recommended.
Food here is amazing. The vegan options is so refreshing when you are use to places that only sells black bean burgers.Sometimes there can be a long wait, but I assure it's worth it. 10/10
Very good, love all the vegetarian/vegan options. The service was really good as well. I ordered the vegetarian chili cheese dog, minus the cheese and it was REALLY good. Not an easy find. The cheese curds were awesome and the food was reasonably priced. The only downside to the whole visit were the seasoned fries. It was like a mouth full of seasoning and didn't blend well with the fries. We honestly couldn't even eat them with ketchup, but the rest of the food made up for it.

The Vanguard was great. Made in house sausages, burgers, lots of sides, with beers and drinks. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options. We ordered the vegetarian sausages (currywurst and Chicago style) and they were delicious, with sides of fried Brussels sprouts (amazing) and poutine (so good). Kiddo ordered mac n cheese and root beer and enjoyed the music. Super friendly folks work here too. Expect loud music, and enjoy.
Wowzer!!! Best sausages I’ve had in Wisconsin hands down. They have so many vegan options for me with even more non-vegan options for my fiancé. I had the vegan animal fries, vegan brat with the Philly toppings and the Buffalo tofu and I basically inhaled the delicious food down. Everything was amazing! My fiancé also enjoyed his hotdogs and fries. Both food and bevs were reasonably priced and the ambiance was perfect for our date night. We both can’t wait to come back again. Highly recommend!!
Treated poorly by the male host at the front door. He was pretentious prick from the start. Never been treated so poorly at a restaurant. We ended up walking out.
