While I was disappointed not to encounter any ghosts at this renowned ghost haunt, I was very pleasantly surprised at its quality and more than adequate staffing level. In this post Covid era, most hotels remain woefully understaffed. Not the Pfister. It has a great downtown location, just a short walk to the Deer District for Bucks fans, lakefront and the riverwalk. This is an old school charming hotel with ornate decor. My room had a picture book describing its history. Standing in the lobby, you can picture the scene in the 1800’s. Several reviews complain about the noise level. I stayed there on the triathlon weekend and it was quite busy with weddings as well. However, I was very lucky to get assigned to Room 518, which is in an alcove overlooking the corner of Wisconsin and Jefferson which also had a nice view of the lake.. High enough to avoid street noise, and separated from the noisy center areas. This hotel is a real charm for those who appreciate their history. It was clean, well maintained and the staff was outstanding. The lobby restaurant was excellent, and there are good restaurant options in the neighborhood. The noise level is the only thing separating it from a five star in my opinion.

I have read other reviews that criticized the front desk or housekeeping staff--WE ENCOUNTERED NO SUCH PROBLEMS. Room was impeccably cleaned, front desk staff courteous. We especially noticed the friendly staff in the cafe--both the hostess and wait staff. We have stayed here before and always enjoy the classic elegance of the building. We also found the hotel room hallways to be quiet at night. If there were one thing to say about how to improve the guests' experiences, it would be to install toilets that you don't have to do a full squat to sit on! Those are definitely not adult/senior friendly. Maybe at least provide a grab bar next to the toilet?

We were so disappointed in our stay at the Pfister. We were happy to be spending a night away from our kids which happens about once every 2 years. Needless to say a nearby nightclub had a live DJ and it was horrifically loud until 2:04 a.m. The front desk told us that the City of Milwaukee had granted this nightclub approval to have patio performances and there was nothing to be done. Please be sure not to book in the tower rooms if you need to get some sleep on a weekend outing to the Pfister. Other than that the room was spotless and we would have stayed again.

The hotel is old school, providing excellent service. The lobby is very nice. Staff are very professional in a way you do not find at a Marriott or Hilton. Room: nice sized and very well maintained. The furniture could do with an update but was adequate. Bathroom well lit and ample storage space. Shower stall clean and bright. Location is downtown. Milwaukee downtown has been restored and the buildings and architecture are wonderful to view. There is no retail at all around the hotel, except for a T.J. Maxx and Foot Locker in a beautiful old building. There is a near by Walgreens. There are a few restaurants around the hotel that looked very nice. Summary: We enjoyed our stay at the hotel.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Pfister Hotel for the second time. Both times were in town for an event, and our experience was exceptional. This hotel is ornate and is stunning inside. It has a rich history. The food is great. The cocktail lounge, Blu, has beautiful views of the Milwaukee shoreline. The service was impecible and we will continue to find reasons to travel to Milwaukee to stay here.

A truly beautiful hotel in the hear of downtown Milwaukee. Perfectly situated to walk around the third ward and river walk. The physical beauty of the hotel is matched by a staff that goes out of their way for guests. A special shout out to the head concierge Briana Greer who is extremely knowledgeable, helpful and nice. Even among five star hotels a special place worth seeking out.

We did not stay here, but visited the spa. They start you off with a drink of wine or champagne. The showers look inviting but I wanted the lotion to stay on my skin. I got the Signature package which was worth every penny. A warm robe awaits you after with a choice of another drink. Nice way to get pampered. Afterwards, we walked around the hotel and looked at the pictures on the wall. The staircase reminded me of the Titanic. It's a beautiful hotel.

During our stay in Milwaukee, our car was stolen and wrecked (not stolen from the Pfister).I am adding this to this review to say -- the service here is unparalleled. They were so kind and empathetic to our situation and did everything they could do to make our stay comfortable and accommodated us to the best of their ability. Parker and the front desk team were stellar throughout our whole incident...we are sure the treatment we received would not have been as amazing elsewhere. So, although we wouldn't recommend Milwaukee, if you ever need to stay there -- the Pfister is the hotel you need. The rooms were clean and pretty. The service was amazing. The amenities were wonderful. The location is also perfect if you're staying downtown 10/10 walkable. The history is also really unique and so is the art!

We have been staying here every summer for a number of years. ( Wife was born in Milwaukee) We love the location, but the front desk staff can be unpleasant. We have been tempted to use a different hotel, but we really like the ambiance.
