Delicious, authentic, Native Mexican cuisine! I could tell they use high quality produce and high quality ingredients. This is hands down my favorite Mexican restaurant in the state. Intimate setting with excellent service. The staff pays attention to the details and you can tell they love what they do. They’re taking traditional Mexican food and turning it into an art form. Pretty cool! Pretty special!

Got takeout for our anniversary dinner, did not disappoint.Food was delicious, way above your average Mexican restaurant. And it was packaged very nicely which is important when getting tacos to go. Will eat here again :)

Farm to table Mexican? Count me in. Only seats 16 inside but has patio seating. I got the Mexican corn and a veggie taco. Both were excellent. Wife got sopes and a taco. Unfortunately the beef was too salty on each. You will definitely pay more than at a typical Mexican place but I expect that for farm to table. Had a nice conversation with the owner. Check it out.

Absolutely fantastic. Born and raised in AZ and have had the hardest time finding authentic Mexican cuisine since living in the Midwest, but this place is the exception. Everything my husband and I tried was perfect. I have some health issues as well and nothing I ate here gave me any GI issues. They are making everything homemade from what I can tell, with quality ingredients. We will definitely be making this a regular stop. Staff was wonderful as well. Can't say enough good things about this place.

Looking for a hole in the wall, family owned, cozy place to wound down and relax. This is it. The food was so good. I ordered the fish and shrimp enchiladas. AWESOME AF.

Look overall yes they have good food and the guy who runs this place with his family is really nice. So it deserves a 4. . The reality about it is that I'd be lying if I said it wasnt overpriced. Its probably overpriced by like 8 dollars a plate. Yes they had great ingredients but with many plates in the upper 20s and changing for chips and salsa it's really expensive. Respect though it's a cute space.

Was impressed by the decor and small feel of the restaurant. People were nice. The presentation of the food and portion size was good. Feel like the restaurant could improve by offering an introduction with a brief overview of top dishes and what they are about instead of just scanning a QR code. Overall the food was good but in my opinion would not say was excellent especially as the prices are very high.

Been going to this spot for a while under different ownership/management for years and I think it's at it's best now. Definitely one of (maybe #1... Who even are its competitors?) the best Hispanic restaurants in Milwaukee. Parking is readily available unless a Brewers game is going on, they do have a small side lot. No reservations just show up (4 tops your best bet) and stay a while and enjoy the varied but harmonious menu and beverage offerings. The man that I believe is the owner/chef did everything front of the house and it went well, happy with that aspect. Very cozy and intimate, great spot for your mom who loves Mexican food birthday outing. Not cheap but what restaurant is these days?

The best Latin food I've had in the states! The server was so gracious to move around tables to squeeze us in and the environment is really cozy. Tables are private enough to have a one on one conversation but close enough to other tables that some people joined in on open conversations. Felt like a big family dinner. Would recommend!

The food was fantastic at this little gem. Everything tasted fresh and the presentation was professional. Also, the management went out of their way to help seat as quickly as possible, even without a reservation. Would highly recommend Tavo's to anyone.
