First time here OUR EXPERIENCE: it took 90 minutes to get our complete orders and that was after asking about it - prior to that we received 1 of 2 cups of soup (had to ask for 2nd) 1 of 3 plates of fries and 1 of 3 malts. The 1st malt served over 30 minutes before the rest of the food. The other malts after us having to reminded them about our order. The first malt was very watered-down and the others so-so because the malts were in the mixer for over 15 minutes. The first plate of fries was cold by the time the burgers arrived and we never received the 3rd plate. Burgers were good when they finally arrived swimming in butter (yum?) The place was about 5 minutes away from us leaving ..... probably won't be back.

This is the best cheeseburger in the world. Pure perfection. The shakes and fries are great too, as well as a classic diner feel. Been going here for 42 years and I haven’t found anything butter:)
All your expectations of an original butter burger will be fulfilled at Solly's Grille; the softest onions and copious amounts of butter makes this one of the best burgers I've had in a while. The meat Pattys are a little small but that's why I saw all the regulars order two burgers at a time. Thicker patties are available but I suggest you go with the original first to get the full experience. Excellent malts are also recommended. Can be crowded but I went about 2pm and had no wait.
Oh my goodness... What fantastic burgers, fries, and chocolate malt! This was our first visit but from now on when we want a burger, this is going to be our go-to place. Great service too. So fun watching the cook. He is so smooth, knows exactly what he needs to do. Doesn't cook the burgers too fast. And he knows how to do butter!
this was my first time there but it definitely won't be my last. Their Butter Burgers really are the best tasting Butter Burgers in Wisconsin.
This might be one of those places where it's "different strokes for different folks." I've lived in the Milwaukee area for years and I had never visited the popular and well-regarded restaurant that could be described as "local culture." We visited on a late Sunday afternoon we were able to grab seats at the counter. They were busy and adjust gotten a large takeout order. It took about 15 minutes before we were able to order anything. I'm guessing they were understaffed. I ordered a blue cheese burger. It was was tasteless and messy despite having their signature stewed onions on it. My opinion must be in the minority because it was busy and they told folks who were calling in takeout orders they were going to have a wait. My best advice is try it for yourself.
Ww had cheeseburgers and a hot dog. Fries come out before the main course so there is something to munch on. Food very good. A little on the pricey side. Not much seating available so don't come in a large group
Such a fun place! I always appreciate getting to go support a local business that has been around for a long time. Both of us got burgers and they were delicious!! Coffee was good as well. The staff were friendly and efficient. Will definitely go again!
There was a line not that much seating but way worth the wait. Wi curd burger was awesome
