I was so hungry for middle eastern food. I've had Shawarma house in the past and it was good. Today I ordered shawarma, kefta, lamb and chicken kabob, hummus, baba ganouj, lentil soup, tabouleh. Literally the works! It was disappointing. The food tasted over seasoned, the chicken salty and the kefta was mediocre. The falafel and hummus were ok. Unfortunately, I couldn't don't eat much of it and neither could my family. I won't go back. There are a few other middle eastern restaurants with decent food. I'll have to go elsewhere.

Platters are horrible, hummus tasted horrible. Maybe I should try a burger from this place. Last time, food was 2.5/5 maybe a new chief is working today accounting for the 1/5.

Good food, but won't be returning because everything is served on styrofoam plates with plastic throw-away forks and spoons. Too much unnecessary waste!

I came in and asked for a falafel wrap and fries and they turned the order around in under 6 min. The falafel wrap was fantastic. The fries had a crunchy tasty outside and were delicious as well. The guy at the counter carefully arranged the bags contents before folding and stapling the top edge closed and presenting it too me. What a quality establishment. I can't wait to return.

Went for lunch. Had the All In entree, the lamb sandwich, the falafel, and the baklava.100% would repeat everything. The lamb took a few extra minutes but was worth waiting for. The baklava was was delicious - not too dry and definitely not soggy.

The food should be compared with similar fast food restaurants such as Mr Pitta in Waukegan, IL or Pitta Inn in Mundelein, IL and Chicago or Wild Pitta in Wilmette, IL and others. Similar plates of food are about 10% more expensive here at Shawarma House which would not bother me and I paid 20% tip although it is a fast food and really I received no restaurant service. More than relatively lower quality of food, What bothered me was that as I sat down to have my lunch, verses of Quran in Arabic was broadcast from speakers in the restaurant. I know enough of Quran; I recognized this was not one of those singings of Quran specifically made for happy occasions; I understand enough Arabic to notice that verses of Quran about murdering none believers were selected ; I politly told the manager that I understand what is being broadcast and do not think this is appropriate for a public restaurant; he said that his English is not good enough, while trying to explain his point of view of those verses; I was there to have lunch, not to argue about religion; obviously the manager is wearing his religion on his sleeve; he dismissed my request to turn it off or change it ; I will not go there again.

Great food, especially late at night! We stopped in close to 11:00 and they were open for takeouts only....but they pleasantly said we could eat in, asked us where we wanted to sit, and took took down the chairs for us.Clean, well-lit, and like I said, very tasty!

Always excellent food ! I get takeout from here at least once a week , I love it so much!
