This was my second experience at Rare and it did not disappoint. The ambiance of this restaurant is traditional steak house ie dark woods, red leather but updated with a contemporary feel. The service here is second to none. The waiters know their product, can explain it well but are not at all pushy. The food is simply excellent. Chef Todd does an amazing job. How he sources the beef he gets is beyond me. For example, he has a Wagyu beef choice from a supplier in Japan that sources two beef cattle PER YEAR WORLDWIDE. And that’s not the top tier Wagyu at Rare. Bottom line, if you are ever in Milwaukee, this needs to be on your restaurant bucket list.

I ordered lobster bisque which was excellent, beef fat french fries also excellent, and a New York strip steak. The steak was the only average to below-average item we had. My wife had the sea bass , excellent, asparagus and a caesar salad also ecellent. The bread puff served with strawberry butter was also a treat that was excellent. For a full-price steak house, I would have expected a medium rare steak to be medium. It was closer to medium well and was very bland. The au jus did not cover up the dry texture of the steak.

70th birthday

We had a lovely experience. Fantastic service (Casey), great food and cocktails, nice wine list. The ambiance is cozy and quiet…dark wood, muted lighting, high-sided leather booths. Oysters Rockefeller was delicious, the popovers unexpected, steaks made perfectly. As a winemaker, I enjoy a well-curated list of wines by the glass so I can pair white and red by course. The list does not need to be large, just well selected which it was. Highly recommend.

Service (Peter) was great. Last night I had the bone in ribeye. I have been to Rare several times and have yet to have a good steak experience. Would pick other restaurants in Milwaukee for steak.

There are more affordable options with similar quality. Service was amazing. Quiet but dated ambiance. More for corporate dining than for family & friends celebration due to dollar per plate cost.

Me and my weetie had yummy goodness and drank some tasty drinks it was awesomeness

Love the food and the atmosphere

Decent league

Personally didn't care for the pork belly appetizer, and the very chewy bone-in ribeye. Service was outstanding.
