Nice little spot with great ice cream— lots of flavor options too. Good, friendly service. Seating inside is not an option at present but there is seating available outside. The raspberry chocolate chip was very good.
Hands down best ice cream I’ve ever tasted. Just a little tip, if you’re waiting in a long line keep the door closed or you’ll get yelled at. A bunch of drunk girls got yelled at like 3 times and it was a total vibe kill, but the ice cream was so good that for a second I forgot about my fathers passing. RIP 5/31/22
Purple Door Ice Cream is a cute little place in Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward with scoop ice cream in a variety of interesting flavors including: Brandy Old Fashioned, Vegan Graham Cracker, Salted Honey, Blueberry Buttermilk, Dinner in Belgium, and Raspberry Green Tea. Yeah, it's not your typical scoop shop. We really loved the Lime with Blackberries, btw. Up to, two, free, samples are provided upon request. Fresh waffle cones are made in house daily. They also offer sundaes, shakes, and ice cream cakes. Of course, they have sprinkles too. Barstool seating is inside with cafe tables outside. The staff is friendly and the line (mooves) quickly enough... Get it?!
Cute ice cream shop, with some unique flavors. I will say we went during a weeknight and the line was out the door so I can only imagine it during a weekend. I was bummed they were out of waffle cones but the salted carmel ice cream was delicious
Rather than having cake at our wedding, we booked Purple Door to cater our event. We had Salted Caramel and Door County Cherry Chocolate Chunk ice cream and the flavors were the cherry on top for the evening. We had so many compliments on how tasty the cold treat was and would highly recommend to have them cater your next event. Donna was accommodating and the service was very affordable. Not to mention, we got to take two gallons home to savor the treat for ourselves ?.
Fresh waffle cones, a wide variety of ice cream and toppings. I mean what’s not to love? The little shop is cute, has the perfect amount of space for a quick ice cream date. The staff was friendly and helpful with picking the right flavors, long story short we can’t wait to go back!
I was excited to try The Purple Door but it did not live up to my expectations. We were visiting from Baltimore so I had never tried it but was intrigued by the unique flavors. It was not really busy but the girl who waited on me really rushed me. She did not offer to let me try anything so I wasn't really happy with my selections. I got the mini flight which was basically four small scoops in a bowl. The ice cream was okay but I was expecting creamier. I would not go out of my way to return.
The ice cream here is so good!! Best ice cream in the city that satisfies my sweet cravings ? Reminds me of Jeni’s ice cream but their portion is larger! The menu also changes so I would make sure to go back and check their new flavors!
Sorry: have only been there once but the butter pecan (my go to) was horrible. If you find Cedar Crest ice cream in the store, go that route. MUCH better, and less expensive.
Overpriced and extremely rude employees.
