Eating outside ..right on the street . We enjoyed the potato salad and brats the most. Gal serving could not have been sweeter.
Wanted some good German food while in Milwaukee and they did not disappoint. I wasn't hungry enough for a whole meal (and my hotel room didn't have a fridge for my leftovers) so I ordered the HUGE pretzel special (including an excellent cheese dip), along with a side of delicious warm German Potato salad. Had a Dunkel dark lager beer as well. Wow! All were fabulous! Atmosphere was great, service was excellent, and I definitely will return. (Sad their Chicago location closed).
A wonderfully fun beer hall experience! Delicious menu offerings, OGBH has food and beer for everyone. Varied beer selection from local craft beer to traditional German brands. A legit kitchen offering delicious food to pare with your beer selection. Friendly, inviting and fun staff, this is a place to visit while in this area of Milwaukee.
Good food at fair prices. Service was good as well
I don’t think this restaurant should compare itself to Hofbräuhaus in Munich. Let down, for sure. There is very little comparison. The place is super small, food mediocre, atmosphere? I’ve seen better and it really is t like HBH in Munich. Chicken schnitzel way over cooked, potato salad, red cabbage tasted like canned. Sauerkraut was right out of the jar. We’ve been to HBH…this does t cut the mustard! Won’t be back.
This place is perfect for a cheap but high quality beer to either watch sports, hang out with friend, etc. They sometimes have live music, which is also great. If you’re hungry, you can always get their Bavarian Pretzel, which is huge! You need to get the 2 mustards and beer cheese with it. Additionally, their schnitzel is delicious with perfectly crispy chicken and fries. I’ve never had a bad time here, and the staff are super nice! I definitely recommend checking this place out!
Went here on a weeknight and this joint was.... sad. Having been to the Munich original and the large Chicagoland location - this little spot left a lot to be desired. The place was dead, and the bartender barely acknowledged us when we wandered in. A few regulars at the bar were being loud and obnoxious, but, I mean, they serve beer by the liter - so understandable. The menu had about 20 items on it and nothing that seemed worth walking past the brat place next door. We turned around and didn't even bother to stay to eat. One beer and done. On to better things.
I’m a big fan of HB beer and a big fan of this place. I’ve been to the one in Munchen and Las Vegas. This is a tiny place but comfy and nice.I’m impressed with the service. Only two guys were running the show. I even asked if that’s how it was supposed to be on a holiday weekend (Easter). One of the guys told me that people from the kitchen called in sick. Both guys were busy and with their hands full, but still the food, drinks and service was great. I left a generous tip to these guys.
Nice selection of Hofbräu beers. Food was good. They properly poach their weisswurst (which is veal and pork; from Usinger's)
Awesome atmosphere, live music, hammerschlagen game, BIG beers, etc. Must visit!
