This is a great stop if you are ever in the white fish bay area. I personally think it is the best sushi offered in Milwaukee County. The restaurant is a quick jump off of 43, across the street from Bayshore. While Bayshore does not have much parking available, this restaurant has a lot around back. They offer Sushi, sashimi, Maki, and other Japanese entrées. The Godzilla roll is excellent, I love to order it with a side of a few standard rolls.Service has always been good when we dine in. There is plenty of seating available so you shouldn’t need a reservation, but it never hurts to make one! We ordered carry out from them a lot during Covid and there were never any errors. I highly recommend trying them out next time you are in the mood for a delicious Japanese meal!
Fantastic staff, food and experience all in all. We got there at the end of a busy time so the wait was a bit much. I would go again and recommend them to anyone who wants sushi with no delay. Thanks for the great experience!
Beautiful ambiance. Customer service was good. Waiter attentive. Food: sushi amazing. We asked for two green tea only got one. I got the teriyaki beef steak. They didn't ask me how I wanted it done. Came out medium rare. Room temp. Sliced up in thin slices, but still big that it would had been nice to have a knife to cut. I was not too thrilled with this dish for that reason. Veggies same. Room temp. My other half got the dinosaur sushi and some other sushi. It was good.
This was some really delicious sushi. I will definitely be back at some point. The Haru Maki was amazing and the sauce that comes with it was mouth watering. I got the Incredible Roll and Scorpion King roll. I loved both. The service was fantastic as well. I wish I didn't live 90 minutes away or else I would be here almost daily.
When we visit from Chicago we always make a point of stopping at Kawa. Today was no exception! Wonderful lunch with friends. We're all stuffed! Thank you Li - great service.

I just have to come here and say I love you. I order here often, never had a bad order. I do not even eat fish, but I can DOORDASH ramune, clear soup, and cucumber and avocado rolls for under $20, got free rice and salad! Chicken tempura is the best I have ever eaten, I microwaved my leftovers and it was still crispy! Sweet and sour sauce gives a little kick, you gave me some veggie tempura with it like you know I’m too poor to buy that too… seriously when I want Japanese or seaweed rolls you are exactly where I go. Please keep staying amazing, I love the clear soup, I never order enough. Thank you for the free side of miso and not forgetting plenty of sauce for the food, with utensils. You’re the BEST!
First time there with me & my wife and we enjoyed every bit of it.The food was amazing!I had octopus sushi for the first time and I like it.We learn how to eat with chopsticks because they don't use silverware.True authentic Japanese restaurant. ??

If you’ve had real Japanese food and know what good food from the far East is supposed to taste like, do not go to Kawa Japanese expecting to leave pleased. The staff, from the servers to the chefs, are Chinese and that is reflected in the food. If you’re looking for dirty bathrooms, servers who ask when you’re leaving and salty chinese takeout at the price range of in upscale Japanese restaurant, this is your place.
