We always have a wonderful meal at Iron grate. Highly recommend. Staff is super friendly.
Great food! Would recommend to all!
The food was excellent and I don’t think it’s possible to leave hungry. Pulled pork, macaroni and cheese, and creamy coleslaw were perfect and the portions were huge.
Very small portion for the price . The ribs tasted good BUT 3 ribs with two small sides one of which they forgot to put in and a tiny catfish po boy for over $30 isn’t acceptable it should be noted I did call and that was the correct portion. The food it the picture was exactly what I was given . No one in their right mind would think that’s a reasonable portion for the price . Maybe an appetizer but most definitely not a full meal .
Was very good the first couple times then it was like what happened it don't taste the same as last time we got it. Today I'm sorry but my Brisket and it was a sandwich was so burnt couldn't even eat it. You charge $13.00 to get brisket that you can't even eat cuz the meat is so burnt. Hush puppies were also over cooked. The money spent was a waste and few months ago was worth it. Came once a week when I heard it was so good but now won't go again.
Got the 4 meat combo...very very good bbq! Brisket was the best, which I think says a lot about a bbq joint. Service was a bit slow and best to order carryout, the place is kinda small to eat in house. Side note - the sauce is very tangy, some may or may not like...but definitely going back for more.
It was my girlfriend's birthday yesterday and she was craving BBQ so we decided to go with Iron Grate since its less than 5 mins from the house. And boy let me tell you: it was delicious! The brisket literally melts into your mouth and those damn hush puppies were out of this world. They threw in an extra Mac and corn bread with honey butter which was a nice surprise. Will definitely be coming back again soon.
The brisket had nice flavor. Sides were just OK. Probably wouldn't order carryout again. Was told my order would be ready at 7:10, was notified by text/email at 7:00 that it was ready. When I got there (at 7:10), it was in a bag next to the pickup window (no warmer or anything) already lukewarm. Had to heat it up when I got home... Sanitary food service practices require cooked food to be served at an adequate temperature. Would encourage management to rethink the carryout arrangement.
This review is about the Fiserv Forum location - I've not been to the main restaurant on S. Howell. We ordered pork burnt ends and a brisket sandwich. The burnt ends were absolutely one of the most disgusting thing I've ever had someone serve me. They were gelatinous, the fat was still somewhat between white/gray/translucent, and they were like chewing an eraser. They didn't resemble anything close to being burnt ends. I literally spit it out of my mouth. After that, it took courage to try the brisket sandwich. A few bites and realized that it wasn't worth it. So disappointing after spending almost $50 for two of us.
BBQ heaven in MKE! We got the 4 meats and 4 sides, brisket, pulled pork, hot links and spicy country spare ribs, beans, grits, mac n cheese, coleslaw and a side of hushpuppies. I finally know what good brisket tastes like from a proper offset smoker. The pulled pork was moist, the hot links tasted great but the star for us were the spicy spare ribs. I've never had grits like this, they're like corn mashed potatoes, amazing. The dining room is open again and it's going to be a regular stop now. Leftovers even tasted great the next day at work. Oh and the pickles... THE PICKLES! I need to find out if they sell those by the jar when we return this weekend for more bbq. The hushpuppies are incredible and like crispy delicate balls from fryer heaven. Stop reading the reviews and just go find out for yourself.
