Worst experience in the history of humanity. rooms are gross and have no housekeeping unless u request it. food I gross service is horrible everything is falling apart and old , I have ni words to describe how disgusting my experience was
This hotel is all about the location - it is connected to the city center / convention center by a skywalk. If you have an event there, this hotel is the most convenient - so it wins for that. Other pluses - Starbucks in the lobby along with a great bar and another good restaurant/bar. Rooms are old and beds aren't the most comfortable. The elevators have seen better days. Overall location and the bar/Starbucks make this the place to stay for city center events.
Beautiful spacious room, wonderful staff, excellent drinks, very reminiscent of days gone by but very much geared to comfort. Appears to be from the era similar to The Drake in Chicago. We’ll be returning.
I spent the last week in a room on thee 15th floor. While this hotel has history and charm and a stunning lobby (on the second floor but with elevator access contrary to the comment below about carrying bags up the stairs). Sadly, the a/c is mediocre at best (it would not get cooler not matter how much we turned down the thermostat), room sort of clean (the baseboards and behind furniture could use a whole lot of attention), wifi is truly terrible (I gave up and used a hotspot on my phone), and more. Our room felt like a European hotel room. The bathroom was TINY with no spots for stuff. It also had no fan or air vent so the air just hung in humidity in there and towels would not dry. That's not a big deal in normal times but now that you have to beg for housekeeping to come, it's a huge deal. For anyone with the slightest mobility issue, I would request an ADA room. The bathtub sides are really high and inside a small floor. I know my elderly mother would never be able to get in our out of this shower/tub. The hotel staff are kind and I think doing their best but it seems this hotel is understaffed. I know it's challenging to keep an old hotel up to date without compromising character, BUT this Hilton could do a few things to make a big difference. Spend some money for wifi boost and change to smart TVs would be so great. Add fans to the bathrooms since there is no vent. I booked this "2 DOUBLE BED DELUXE" in August 2021 for July 2022. I truly have no clue what "deluxe" means for this room. It was a very basic room with two double beds. Maybe the little refrigerator is the "deluxe"? Friends were down the hall and their bathrooms were normal-sized and updated. One last thing. Because this is downtown, I chose this hotel for the walk over to the Wisconsin Center for safety. The walkover was closed. I didn't feel very safe in this area of town walking alone at night so this was disappointing for sure.
Hotel was exactly as advertised. Stayed Friday night. Check in was smooth. Even though there was some sort of military conference/reunion and a wedding service was top notch. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Absolutely no issues. Good value. Recommend.
Hotel was quiet and staff nice. However, rooms dated, water pressure non existent and not much in the area Big rates for a hotel on the downside and not in the best area. Breakfast buffet reasonably priced.
Rooms are worn out, or at least the floor I was on. Within 10 minutes of entering our room, the door opened and housekeeping stated they were coming into dust? Odd. Felt like they were up to something. Later I discovered a dead cockroach in the bathroom. Front desk quickly brought up keys to a new room, down the hall. Same dingy appearance and cleanliness. The floor smelled like a GratefulDead show, all day, all night. As a bonus, I got a Starbucks charge on my room that I didn’t buy.
Great old hotel with lots of class. Great service and the view of Lake Michigan was incredible. I would stay here again and would only ask that the rooms receive a little updating. I love Hilton Hotels and will always choose a Hilton.
dog friendly ☺️ Old fashioned in a great way! We spend the last 2 months on the road and wanted something classy and this was a great choice. Awesome live music in the beer garden and at the bar ?
I have stayed in multiple hotels in Milwaukee area alone. At least 2 times a month I stay in a hotel there for work. I stayed here for pleasure, and in my honest opinion it is not worth the $200 a night you are paying for a tiny 1 bedroom. Here’s why: -The lighting in the room is low & when you open your window there is not any privacy since majority of the rooms are all facing each-other and you can look inside your neighbors room. -You have to pay for parking, $28 a day. (Other hotels in Milwaukee have free parking) -There’s no real amenities, only a small workout area. (Other hotels in Milwaukee have a washer/dryer room, a pool, computer rooms) - There’s no free breakfast. (other hotels in Milwaukee have free breakfast) This hotel however has a nice miller bar located inside for a reasonable price and a historic look to it. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend.
