The food here is absolutely excellent, healthy, and delicious, as is par for the course for Ethiopian cuisine. If you adhere to a nutritious plant-based diet this place is a must go and I'm glad that they've stayed in business. However there are a couple things I'd still like to mention.First is the fact that the owner can be surly/standoffish, it's almost like he's dismayed to see you even when you've called ahead and ordered to go. I'm sure it's not intentional but nevertheless not quite welcoming and unfortunately has discouraged me from going there more frequently, otherwise I'd probably be there on a very regular basis. The other thing is that the injera included with the order is never enough and they don't seem to readily offer the option to order more. I'd be more than happy to pay for more but that's definitely impossible if you're ordering online.A couple little changes and this place would be nothing short of fantastic honestly.

Hands down the best Ethiopian food in Milwaukee. My family and I have been coming here for years, and the owners know us by now. The servings are generous for the price (our favorite order is the mixed vegetarian platter). It’s always ready in time for pick up and the owners are the sweetest. I hope they bring back dining in soon so we can visit but in the meantime we’ll continue to support with takeout. Don’t hesitate to try the delicious flavors - a mixed platter is always the answer!PS if you’d rather a more authentic injera ask for the darker teff gluten free injera - the normal lighter colored injera is mixed with white flour which is not the same as traditional teff flour injera. Keep in mind however that the authentic one is a bit more sour in taste!

This is a real Ethiopian restaurant. I'm from Chicagoland and every time I drive up north I make sure to stop here on the way up (and hopefully the way back!). I've eaten there and also picked up an order to eat when I get back home. The injera is soft and the wat is perfectly flavored. This is a great place to try Ethiopian food if you haven't had it before. Make sure you visit this restaurant when you get the chance

One of my favorite restaurants in Milwaukee (I love ethnic food). This is a gem for the city. Delicious unique flavors, options for vegetarians, large portions. I come back here for takeout regularly. Injera bread is addictive!

Didn't realize it had gone take-out only :( but really wanted to try...Another time!

Very good Ethiopian food! Great vegan options! Everyone in my group ordered the vegetarian sampler and every single dish included was delicious (especially the green beans). I also recommend trying the Lentil Sambusa as they are very delicious! Iam also picky about Injera and their’s was very good. They gave us plenty of injera in our takeout order and the portion sizes of the other entrees were also generous. Highly recommend!

Food was amazing, staff was friendly. It is currently carry-only. You'll want to make sure you call ahead to place an order.

Really delicious food and helpful guidance to steer around food allergies. Ordered on New Year's eve (carry out only). The owner was very helpful in selecting options that did not include gluten, dairy and egg. Great flavors and very filling. Thank you!

My only complaint is I wish they had parking, especially in that area.Food is amazing, staff is always super friendly, great beverages. Highly recommend if you are interested in trying new foods.I always ask myself why I don't go more often, and it really just comes down to I can never find parking.

Best Ethiopian food I have had in a while. The service is really great and the people serving are really kind and hospitable.
