I’ve been coming here since I was a little girl. The service we received today was HORRIBLE. I will not be coming back. Jose would have been embarrassed by the service we received. The waitress asked if we wanted a warm or crispy tortilla. We said warm. This is what we received. When we mentioned it to the waitress she claimed she said burnt tortilla? Then she argued with me saying She asked if we wanted crispy or burnt and claimed that we said burnt? She didn’t offer to replace it or anything.
Went in, tried to order water to drink. The waiter tells us that we have to buy a bottle of water. OK, annoying but whatever, we happened to have water bottles on us.Then the waiter tells us that outside beverages aren't allowed on the table for "security purposes" whatever that means. Getting kind of ridiculous at this point, but I put my water on the floor.Finally after seeing us drinking, a separate waiter comes up and just told us outside beverages were not allowed. At this point we left.Is this asinine rule going to make up for losing our order in the long run? Maybe, but certainly wasn't worth the hassle for us, especially since there are some fantastic other Mexican options within 0.1 miles of this place.I also will note there was a mandatory 18% gratuity for dine in and they said they would not split checks. Neither of these would be issues on their own but it adds to the overall inconvenience of going here.
Conejito's is a great place to eat delicious tacos for a great price! My care worker and I went for lunch. At noon, we were seated promptly, given menus and offered drinks.Though they do offer margaritas and a variety of beers, we declined. She was on the clock and I.. Well, I don't drink much.However, if you do, from the other patrons; They weren't disappointed.The tacos were divine for the price! 4 tacos with steak, lettuce and tomato for $6. I don't usually eat tomatoes but these tacos were so good!For a little bit extra; you can get Molé, Guacamole or sour cream but once you try a taco.. You might not bother with extra stuff.Go down there, try the food and experience authentic Mexican food for one of the best prices in the city!
Good cheap food. Terrible service. 18% service charge. The young man let us sit at the bar - we had two drinks and an appetizer. As our meal was coming out some other woman yelled at us that we were NOT allowed to sit at the bar and had to move to a table. Even though we had already ordered and our meals were coming out behind her. Waited almost 15 mins for drink refills. Sad to write a negative review in these times but they need to work on their customer service considering the place was half empty.
Went to conejitos by the amount of "good" reviews on the place found that the atmosphere is pretty chill, music (in Spanish)Was great.now the not so good stuff while the food is "cheap" it is not good or the "best" around as some reviews suggest far from it if you ask me some of it felt straight out of a Can, i might be wrong that's just how I felt it tasted (had the taco combo and the enchiladas) neither one of those where authentic more like Mexican/American mix not bad just not "authentic Mexican food".Last but not least there's an 18% service charge first and only time I have ever paid for this (not to be confused with the tip) when it was all said and dóne I ended up paying more than some non so called "cheap" places I've been to before conejitos.I personally don't recommend it for authentic or cheap eats maybe for a different food experience?
Too many rules that indicate they don't want you here. The food quality has dropped too. I have been going here for over 40 years and never been treated so bad in any restaurant ever. They clearly are not needing my business and I will not be back. The limits on where to stand, how many at a table, a time limit and drink limit really makes you wonder if they are trying to kill the place. Try another Mexican restaurant that needs an wants you business.
Very small inside, expect that you might share a table with other diners. Food still comes on a paper plate! Beans rice for the win. Tacos have always been some of the best in the city. Service was quick and very friendly.
We got Conejitos catering for a birthday party, and it was a super friendly and easy process, and delicious!!! Totally affordable and everyone was so happy ?
Mmmm.. When you want it, nothing else will do.Conejito's has that special place in my heart - and in my belly.Love the tostadas. Everyime. For years/decades.
Conejitos is not what I used to like. Food is getting to be sub-par. Atmosphere is not there. and I couldn't even connect on my android phone. Waitress told me password and then bartender told me they don't have wi-fi. Oh well, no problem I won't be going there again.
