Decided to go for a few drinks and apps/tacos. Three/four things we ordered we were told they were out of. This was at 6pm, which seemed strange, because it was a week day and they were not busy at all. The house marg was good, also ordered tequila/mezcal. They have an extensive menu of tequilas, which was great. The tacos were okay, they didnât have much in them. The service was inattentive. After our first order, we had to flag down our server each time we wanted a drink and then ended up canceling our last order because we waited 15 minutes and decided it was better to just to move along. Disappointed, was expecting to have a better experience. Wonât return, and donât recommend. There are so many amazing food/drink spots in Milwaukee. No need to stop here.

Was in MKE for a race and stopped here for lunch. Was good enough that I came back for more food and margaritas. Was skeptical about mexican food so far north (I'm from Texas) but was very surprised how good it was. Tequila selection is on point and the staff was great. Highly recommended.
Weâve been here a couple times last summer and it was stellar so we decided to bring some friends who were visiting from out of town and it was a flop unfortunately. Our server was very friendly but we kept thinking she forgot about us. We ended up moving tables right at the beginning to a table that hadnât been cleaned yet but had a better view. Server came by to take our drink order but did nothing about the pile of dirty dishes and we waited so long for someone to clean the table that someone from our party just piled up the dishes and brought them inside the restaurant themselves. Appetizers came quickly but waitress didnât return to take our full order for another 20 mins - I was about to go find her bc we were hungry. Then she came out at the end and started piling up plates including something we werenât done eating yet. Just felt like everything was phoned in. Food was good but if I came back Iâd probably just sit at the bar.
Our first trip to Blue Bat was with a party of 9 for my husband's birthday. He's a tequila fan and we had received a gift card. The food, drink, ambiance, and service absolutely surpassed our expectations. We had a gorgeous table inside but it looked onto the river and the staff were nice enough to open the huge window for us. From the tuna nachos to the bowls and tacos and the pitcher of Blue Bat margaritas, we were thrilled and will be back! My father in law even hugged our server at the end!
Food and service were great. Host was expecting me and greeted me by name - so friendly and welcoming. Beautiful day to sit on the patio on the river.
Table had used napkin and food on the seats upon arrival. Our meal was served with all the empty appetizer dishes still on our table, employee seemed put out that we asked to have them removed. The said they would they would "dress up & put candles" on the birthday treat which they did not. Ordered extra taco chips and it took 40 minute for them to get to the table.
