This is one of our favorite casual hangouts! My husband and I come here often for a fish fry, or on a very casual night for a quick dinner. The drinks are always amazing and the food, though a pretty simple menu, is done very well! The staff rarely changes! I think that is a huge tell in management… When you can keep the same people right through a pandemic? That is amazing! They are super friendly and “on it”! They have a great patio and allow dogs on the patio.
We love coming here when the weather is warm and sitting in there outdoor eating area. It's behind the building and fenced in, so it feels secluded and private, but your sharing it with a bunch of friends. Found has been awesome, nothing has been found lacking. We've been fortunate enough to have the same, awesome server, Harley, who seems like he runs his rear-end off, put is always helpful and cheerful. Rest of servers seem like they are the same way. The great thing is, you can bring your pup with you and no one bats an eye, and they'll even ask if they need a bowl of water. Awesome service, great food. We've even used it as a fall back, when we have found other places to be overcrowded or lacking, because we know we will have great eating and relaxing environment.
Excellent Friday night fish fry. My 11-year old granddaughter wolfed down the fried cod and fries. She is a picky eater so that is a true compliment.
Delicious and fresh food; the Seiten Ban Mi is a wonderfully tasty vegan/veg sandwich. There is also a vegan burger option or a vegetarian grain & veg bowl. Otherwise traditional pub food--burgers, cheese curds, reuben--with pleased responses. Love the side salad.This place can get busy and full quickly around meal times. Great service from staff when it's not too busy and they have adequate staffing. Post-COVID, please remember waitstaff are pressured similarly as grocery, Healthcare, and education industries.
Brunch is my favorite here at Tip Top!The Bourbon Glazed ham and Eggs Benedict is my go-to choice.I love that I can bring my dog to the patio. The vibes are always fun as well!
Nice little tavern, with a great menu. Cheese curds were pretty good. Grass fed beef was really good. Service was excellent. Not much parking, we parked on the street. We enjoyed the vibe of the place.
I loved the Tip-Top even when it was an absolute dive.They've remodeled, expanded, added food and a patio, regular live music. Great bar to just text your friends and have a nice night.
Excellent Fish Fry and very unique Coleslaw bursting with flavor.
This was a late night stop for us. It has a better selection of craft cocktails than most places in Madison. A good selection of beer. Looks like it's a great neighborhood bar.
Cute place, one of my favorite haunts on the North side. Great pub fare, the tap list is always on point, staff are fantastic. Really a Madison staple.
