Don’t go here for the ambience ( the reviews are true- it’s old school and pretty run down) but go here for the good, greasy food and the kind waitress who calls everyone “honey.” Had to wait for my college kid to get up so went and spent time there. Coffee was great and food was the greasiest you’ll find for a great price. Can only pay by cash though there’s an ATM in there if you forget. Great experience overall!
I have been going to The Curve for years. It was the hangover spot in my 20’s that all of my crew would go to for Friday thru Sunday morning breakfast, it was the breakfast place I took my newborn/toddler son (Cathy cut up his food so I could enjoy mine) and now the place I take my son aand his girlfriend. Cathy and jeff make you feel right at home and the food, omg, just what you want in a classic American breakfast. I remember my first time in, I ordered 2 pancakes and Cathy said “oh honey, you only want one, it’s the size of your head.” She was not lying. Lol. I’m not sure what I’ll do if they ever close! It’s more than a diner!it’s a home cooked meal, away from home! Thanks Cathy n Jeff for making this the go to spot in Madison!
Really cool down to earth diner. The grilled ham and cheese I got was pretty sad -- just some ham and American cheese on white bread -- but the breakfast items were all really good. And huge.
This cafe needs a serious update and make over. Food was cheap but the cafe was somewhat dirty and dilapidated looking. Food was oily and not tasty, would not visit again. Staff was friendly though and my breakfast was just $8.75
Visited 'The Curve' for some breakfast as I passed through Madison. I felt a little uneasy as I walked up to the front door and saw how run down it was. If it weren't that I was hungry and in a bit of a hurry I'd have looked for an alternative venue to eat at this point. I went in and the dilapidation continued with very dated fixtures and fitting and water ingress damaged ceilings! The lady serving was however very sweet and friendly. I ordered 2 x Eggs and Corned Beef Hash and a Coffee and this was not great, very oily and even the plate and mug seemed past their best too. On the plus side it was cheap, just US$8.75 but to be honest I would rather they charged 50% more and put the extra profit towards a full make-over!
In town for a trip to the vet. Stopped for breakfast and it was outstanding!! A true greasy spoon! Loved it and I would recommend to anyone looking for some good breakfast food!
Always good food. Diner food, nice people.
Food is like that of a soup kitchen but it has character. Good hangover spot
To say this was my worst resturant experience that I've ever had is an under-statement. To start off this place is run down, very dirty and the staff is rude towards other people, they are understaffed, and their demeanor seems like coming in for food was an inconvenience. I watched the server kick a ketchup packet to the corner instead of picking it up. Another group sat down before the table was completely cleaned and the server literally tossed a towel at this person and told him to "wipe up the table since you sat down before it's cleaned" and also sternly told others to not sit until they are ready but there's no one seating customers or letting them know when it's cleaned. After we sat down she told us we should make sure the seat is dry because she just cleaned it with bleach. It also took 1 hour and 20 minutes to get our food (1 omelet and 1 corn beef hash) and then we realized that the corn beef hash is more expensive when it's a "special" versus what the price is on the menu. There were so many things wrong with this experience that I almost forgot to comment about my food. My denver omelet was absolutely terrible, the eggs tasted weird and I had to cover it with ketchup and hot sauce to even finish it but after waiting so long I just dealt with it, only after I was ignored by the staff a few times. Also, the corn beef hash was SPICY(without warning).
Really happy with the food and service here every time I've visited. Visited twice for breakfast and once for lunch. Great portions and well prepared. Really enjoyed the kielbasa and eggs special I had a few weekends ago as well as the sausage and cheese omelette a few weeks later.
