This hotel needs to improve its level in food and breakfast and provide a room service. It is the only hotel which does not offer cereals for breafast in the USA! And no one tells you when you reserve that the hotel does not offer room service soit is not a four star hotel to say the least
Excellent hotel located in Madison, WI. Definitely need gps to get to location due to many numerous one way streets. Superb breakfast as that was only meal we had due to family party night before. Staff very attentive and helpful.
absolutely five star rooms and service. Front desk and Stateroom dining experience wonderful. More than highly recommend. This property shines. Left the Intercontinental Hotel in Chicago (not good) for here and could not believe the difference.
Great view of the lake, great room service, I will stay here again when I go back to Madison.
The Edgewater is a beautiful hotel with amazing amenities, walking distance to the Capital and fun restaurants and shops. Our room overlooked the beautiful Mendota lake which I couldn't keep my eyes off. Our room was large with a beautiful little kitchen. The bathroom was spacious with double sinks, shower and a large clawfoot tub. There were several events happening the weekend we stayed so I was worried it might be loud but I didn't hear a peep and got really great sleep. We will return!
Good service and fantastic location, renovation. Best in Madison, IMHO. Not the service attentivesness of the best big city spots, but pleasant folks, good food, and cocktails. Lovely lake views, pretty limited menu, very walkable to downtown.
This facility has everything you need to feel comfortable and supported while on business. It is walking distance to much of the city's amenities. I would stay here for sure the next time I return! The cleaning services staff kept the room in a pristine state, everyone was a phone call away and very helpful, and you cannot recreate the view from your room anywhere else!
The Edgewater is a lovely hotel that is definitely at a luxury level which their prices reflect. Still, if you are fortunate enough to have a lake view room, it is a wonderful experience. The staff is very polished for the most part, however, the Concierge could have been better. Housekeeping was a delight; very thorough. You need to understand the location - while stunning - is a bit isolated. You are not close to any shops, restaurants or other services. You can walk to these but it is a healthy walk and when it's cold outside you may not want to take that on. They have a small coffee/gift shop but it doesn't open until 7a and closes around 2p or 2:30p. The gift shop is very Badger focused which, is understandable but . . . come on. Surely expanding the non-collegiate clothing offerings wouldn't hurt.
Came to Madison to visit our son. The Edgewater was by far the most well-appointed and comfortable hotel we've stayed in in the area. Super friendly staff as well. Great location, close to State Street and the Capital.
