Super Delicious food and incredible food, couldn’t ask for more!!
State Street brats never disappoints. The servers change every year because it's a university campus, and the neighborhood gets updated a little bit here and there every year, but State Street Brats remains classic! The brats are never out of control blow your mind amazing but they're consistent, tasty, with plenty of condiment options, and they're fast. For the first time ever, I had a red baraat, which is like a combination of beef and pork. It was really good, in fact I may have enjoyed it more than the regular white bright. The bar is a classic campus bar. On event weekends, it's where the tourists go... Like me. There's parking nearby but it is best to walk if you can.
ate there for lunch this past weekend while on our anniversary trip. Jadyn was a pleasant server and kept up with her customers. it was a weekend and busy. it was an awesome place to grab a bite and a bloody. the cheese curds are like mini grilled cheese bites but better! ??? last to mention is the bloody Mary with a full brat on top! I did not try it but I will definitely be doing so on our next visit. it looks so freaking good. I love brats. I love bloodys. definitely recommend stopping here whether you're from the area or a tourist.
Fun college environment. Everything from the sticky floor to the sports on the extra large TV screams sports bar. Burgers were okay for a BUSY Saturday but no fries was a disappointment.
I’ve never had a more horrible experience in Madison in my life. We were in line on May 13th at 9:30 pm and the bouncer staff treated everyone so horribly that people in line began to chant. They lied to everyone in line, saying they were not closed and that they were not holding the line for a private party, only to find out that’s exactly what they were doing. They let people for this “private party” come in well after the sign said it was supposed to be over cutting everyone else. The manager blatantly yelled at people in line, and despite groups of 20 coming in wouldn’t let anyone in line inside. I will never return and I will never spend money here again. Truly if you’re looking for a bar to go to in Madison, avoid brats at all costs. And Angela, the manager tonight, I hope you know that you truly are one of the most cruel people I have ever tried to communicate with in my life. Funny thing is, if you offer them cash, they’ll let you in for the right price :) watched a group offer $100 and avoid the whole ordeal. In a time where we are focused on advancing equity, state street brats is falling. I will never stop complaining about tonight.
We have worked with State Street Brats for several client and employee events and will continue to do so in the future! The positive feedback is always consistent ... superior products, top-quality service, fun and unique catering option. (I personally think the french fries are hands down the best I've ever had.) Highest recommendation goes to the State Street Brats team!

What's going on? I've been here off and on since this place opened and it's been pretty great. Until tonight. No vegan brats? Ran out? Okay. But no servers, no condiment bar, no lettuce, tomato, onion for your burger and no kraut or onions for your non-vegan brat? One single table service of ketchup and mustard for the whole dinning room to share? This place sucked for dinner. It was 6:30. No other customers present. I wonder why....?
The brats are delicious and their take on cheese curds are soooo good.
Don’t come here unless you want to be ripped off. My dad and I ordered 2 brats ($6 each), 2 fries ($4 each), a root beer ($3), and a spotted cow ($7). The kid behind the bar charged us $42 when the bill should’ve been $30. When my dad went back to ask about the additional twelve dollars the kid doubled down and said it was correct. The place was packed and people were waiting to order so my dad figured it wasn’t worth $12 to argue but I couldn’t believe how ridiculous it was. Just admit the mistake and refund the cash.Not only that, but like a lot of other reviews have said, he couldn’t explain the difference between a white and red brat AND it was absolutely subpar food. Super disappointing.
