They don’t take reservations and your whole party must be present to be seated!
Decided to catch a late breakfast while passing through Madison. Arrived about 11am on Saturday (graduation weekend). Surprised to only have three people waiting in line to order in front of us. Food was delivered within ten minutes. Pancakes, eggs, bacon, juice and coffee were all excellent. Our server was terrific as well. Loved the vibe and appreciated the Pride flag hanging proudly. The location was perfect for also stopping by the farmers market. Overall, super positive experience- we will definitely return.
I did the blind breakfast and it was amazing, I'm so glad I did. I've been here a few times and the food and drinks are always good. That's a picture of my bloody Maria, which could have been breakfast by itself!
I am visiting Madison and was recommended this spot for breakfast, and it did not disappoint! I took a risk and ordered The Blind, it was fantastic. A risk well worth taking! I really appreciate that there is both table and bar (?) seating because it doesn’t dissuade the solo patron such as myself. Coffee is self serve and in mugs, and their cinnamon hazelnut brew was the perfect morning pick me up.I’m super glad I came during my short visit and will be coming back!
The server and staff super-friendly!The pancakes were delicious, though a bit dry and crumbly. The Pecan Strussel French Toast was great! The eggs were alright, though the texture was a bit off.The bacon was phenomenal, though! Thick-cut and done crispy-but-still-chewy!
First time diner and it was very quick service. Had French toast and was delicious. Will be back.
I love this place. The food is great and worth the hassle (which there definitely is). Prices are a bit high. The spacing and availability is very limited, and the indoor temperature of the restaurant can vary wIldly (cold in the winter. And very hot in the summer). Also, expect to wait outside during the weekend. However, the food, the service, and the company mission to deliver local ingredients really pulls it together. You cannot beat Short Stacks pancakes. And they make a mean eggs Benedict. If they could improve the hassle mentioned above, then it’d be an EASY five stars.
Amazing breakfast and such a cool space! I had the Eggs Benedict and sweet potato oatmeal pancakes and now I’m so full that I may never eat again, but it was totally worth it.
My bf and I ordered egg Benedict, blueberry pancakes, and a blueberry lemonade for 32 dollars. The food was alright, but I don’t think the price was worth it. The Benedict was served w a wrong side and when it finally got here, the egg was already cold. The blueberry pancakes were tasty but not three small pancakes for 9 dollars uh uh. So overall I would give a three star and I don’t really think it’s worth the hype.
I cannot say enough good things about short stack. Although a bit pricey, that's reflective of the quality of food and how well they pay/treat their workers. The consistent reasoning I use to talk about how good their chocolate chip pancakes are is that is high quality chocolate and the rich, buttery taste perfectly complements and fully matches that chocolate. Too often when eating pancakes it tastes too much like chocolate or just a very meh pancake part, but here they achieve a great balance.
