I am laughing looking at all the five stars reviews. Pre-prandmic, I travel to Thailand every couple of years. You can’t fool me what is real Thai food and what’s not. I went to there ordered salads, egg rollers, and my favorite Thai soup. None of them tease like Thai food at all. The server told me the food was “Americaziled” lol. If you want some authentic Thai food, this place is not for you. Run!!!! I didn’t finish my food, I left with a bitter taste in my mouth. The worst “Thai” restaurant ever in town.
I don't get it. It's so well reviewed but the food is so mediocre. We've tried it twice for take out during the pandemic and once now in person. The food was bland. One of the dishes served with raw chicken. Waiter did not ask us spicy level maybe that is the problem.Vegetable fried rice tasted like cardboard. Duck curry the duck was dried out and stringy. All the noodle dishes the noodles were overcooked.Maybe if you are a college student with a hangover you can get emergency doordash noodles, but if you have had good Thai food anywhere in your life you will eat here once and never go back.
I went to this location because I have tried the one at the Odana location. I wanted to see which location was better and this place was a notch better. It’s a little less appealing looks wise on the interior than the other location. We ordered the Tom Ka with shrimp, chicken cutlet plate, sautéed catfish with vegetables and a drunken flat noodle. The Tom Ka soup was absolute delish. The chicken cutlet plate was very crispy and good. The Drunken Noodles/Pad Kee Mao was one of the best I’ve ever had. The catfish dish was pretty good as well. This place is probably the best place for Thai in Madison. I’ve been to a few Thai places when visiting Madison and this place blows them all out of the water.
Good place and good food. Bright ambience with subtle music in back ground.Expect for veggie spring roll other Appetizers wasn’t that great but presentation of food was great. Crab Rangoon was more cream cheesed. And curry puff, something in the the filling was burnt.Entrées were delicious and as usual more than enough for 1 person. Curries they know what they are re doing.Service was great and staffs are friendly.2 Entrances - one towards the south and one on the east side of the restaurant. Wheel chair accessible. Will return to this restaurant.
Love the Thai curries (my favorite is the jungle curry). They have a lot of vegetarian options and the food is very flavorful. When ordering the spicier curry options, the food doesn’t come out tasting like a hot mess. The chef integrates the spice with a blend of herbs very nicely into the curries so that the spiciness doesn’t just taste like they added red chili over the top. Only negative comment I have is that the prices have gone up a lot over the years, but other than that the food is terrific!
First of all, their best dish in my opinion was the roast duck curry, which they got rid of recently to my disappointment.Second, and more importantly, a word of advice for those getting takeout here -- I was a frequent customer here, spending at least half a grand here on a good year. There's an old lady working here, who doesn't speak good English that told the young lady taking my order to charge my card twice for $34.50 on 02/09/2022, so I ended up getting charged $69 instead. I showed them through my credit card notifications on my phone that I got charged twice, and they said it will get resolved. In the end, I never got refunded for getting erroneously charged, and more disappointingly, my credit card company was unable to successfully resolve this issue through a dispute. I wouldn't be surprised if the manager refused to refund me because those taking my order denied charging me twice, and of course, one would rather believe their staff than their customer. If you order takeout here, only go through the online ordering system so that there's a paper trail, and you won't be able to get charged twice. There might be discrimination if you order takeout in person as I felt. If you think you were mischarged, ask for the manager so that you can explain clearly what had happened. I'm sorry I did not get names or any type of confirmation. I had thought at this type of restaurant that these petty things wouldn't occur in the first place, but I'm done wasting time and effort trying to get my money back. At first, I thought this was a minor mistake, but now it's clear that they're making this a headache for me.Times are hard and I get it, especially for restaurants, and I would be happy to donate the amount if the restaurant tried being honest with me and admitting they made a mistake. Instead for your doggedness, Sa-bai Thong, you can keep the paltry sum, but I am deeply disappointed and you've permanently lost me as a customer. I will no longer recommend your two restaurants to my network. I only hope that you treat others fairly in the future.
Looking for a Thai place and this place had a lot of options and very friendly staff. Curry was absolutely delicious and portions were exactly enough. My new Thai place.
They don't use the real Thai names for dishes (like Kra Pao, Prik Khang, etc) but there was a Thai waiter who was able to help us decipher what was what. Unfortunately, though, when we were ready to order, a non-Thai waitress took our order. My wife and I live in Thailand and know about Thai food, but the waitress at the restaurant did not seem to know much about the food. She did say that all their sauces are foods are prepared in advance, so it's not possible to adjust or customize anything. Anyway, we ordered a Salmon Fillet that looked like it was served with a Thai Seafood Sauce, but it was just a lime sauce, and there was nothing that made the dish taste especially Thai. We ordered Som Tum and asked for it spicy, but it wasn't. We ordered a spicy red curry rice, but it wasn't. I asked for Thai chilies, but they didn't have any. No spice and no Thai taste.
Nice place, I’ll probably visit at lease once a week if I live near by.
The owner is nice. You get your food in the order you ordered it. Food is okay. I didn’t like the egg rolls. The fried rice is good. Their pho was good too. It reminded me of the boat noodles. The owner did get our order wrong twice but made it up by giving us the wrong item for free.
