My 1st time being there, the food was great and the staff was awesome! had a great experience.
The lady that took my order was polite enough. She was definitely not happy to be there. Usually I'm asked if I want the cheese sauce..not today. I advised the lady that I was eating in, I expected a tray which was not the case it was bagged up so my sandwiches were squished. When I tried to ask the girl if this is how they gave orders for eating inside the restaurant she gave me a look and said do you want a plastic bag? I just said never mind and went to get my ketchup and tried balancing everything to the table. I
We ALWAYS love Portillos, but tonight we were met Terry and Mama Lee at the Madison west-side location. Portillos is so lucky to have them both, they are so friendly and make everyone feel welcome! Clean dining room and delicious food, we already can't wait until we can get back there. And, do yourself a favor and save room for a slice of cake!
Absolutely disappointed in this place! They had tons of employees standing around and we still had our order completely messed up. We had 7 orders and only 4 were completed and all they wanted to do was not charge us for the other 3 kids meals. We waited 30 minutes for it to final get figured out. And the employees started yelling at us!
Wow! Heard about the place on the show “Ozark.” Great food, value, ambience, service, choice of music playing! Hot dogs taste great. Chocolate cake is the bomb!!!!
The food was good and filling. I ordered two hot beef sandwiches with sweet peppers, small fried and drinks. The price on the board show just over $13. The cashier was up selling but didn't tell me that. It was our first time and he made it sound like it was options in the sandwiches. My mom ate half of her sandwich and took the rest home. There was jazz music playing which was a nice change from other places. It was loud so it made it hard to hear the numbers called for our order.
This is an embarrassment. Cold food. Long waits. Rude staff. Wrong order three times. I’ve grown up with this establishment. DO NOT COME HERE. This place is nothing like the actual experience. Drive the two hours to go to a real Portillo’s. This place should be shut down.

I went to Portillo's at around 8:00 on a Saturday night. Food was okay and came out almost an hour after I ordered it. the chili dog I ordered came with more onions than chili, and the chocolate cake shake I ordered had a large layer of unblended cake at the bottom. The cup the shake came in had a hole in the side, if the cake at the bottom was blended it would have leaked out, so it was a blessing, but mostly a curse. I can not reccomend going when it looks even a little bit busy. You will wait an hour for average food.
Gorgeous new place on Madison’s west side in the West Towne parking lot, I’ve been wanting to get here since it opened. I got the Italian beef, medium wetness (their recommendation), peppers, and a vanilla shake. Dined in. The wait was acceptable for a Friday lunch rush and the order was fulfilled correctly. The food was…ok. The sandwich was large but too wet for my liking (I will get it drier next time) and the peppers were limited and blah. The shake was full to the brim and pretty good. Plenty of workers for a new place so there must be some draw for them. I will try it again, but I won’t rush back.
