My kids and I went through the drive thru. The service was super fast. The hotdogs and beef sandwiches were great. The fries were perfect. A great stop on a Saturday night.
The family was looking for this as a Father's Day meal. Placed an online order for take home and a dine in lunch while we waited. Service from register to food delivery was fast and friendly. I appreciated when the online order employee opened my container and checked every single item for accuracy. Our lunch was delicious. The Father's Day meal received rave reviews. Highly recommended
Absolutely disappointed in this place! They had tons of employees standing around and we still had our order completely messed up. We had 7 orders and only 4 were completed and all they wanted to do was not charge us for the other 3 kids meals. We waited 30 minutes for it to final get figured out. And the employees started yelling at us!
My husband and I have visited many Portillo’s locations for over 20 years in Naperville and Chicago area and we have one close to home in Rockford Illinois. We visited the new location in Madison Wisconsin for the first time last night after 9:30 PM. There were not many cars in the parking lot and we were fourth in line in the drive-through. We ordered two grilled chicken sandwiches but the wait in line was very very long. We were in line at least 15 to 20 minutes just waiting to get our food. We have never had such low service at any of the other locations with a large number of customers inside and in the drive-through line. The food was great as always but Service definitely needs to speed up.
Great customer service and good food. The chocolate cake is delicious. They also have a drive thru. Went with a friend and we split a chili cheese dog and double cheeseburger. We then each had fries and I had a vanilla shake. Everything was very good. We split a piece of chocolate cake. It's big enough to share.
Stopped in on Mother's Day evening for the #2 Chicago Dog special and a Strawberry Lemon Cake Shake. All was prompt and tasty. The absolute best part of the whole experience was the warm welcome and fun farewell from Lyndell. We were happy to chat with him about Portillos' food. He is a true asset to your East Madison WI store. We visit every few months and will be back again to try the hot beef... and get more of that delicious, signature chocolate cake he served us and recommended!
Quality of the food has gone way down hill. I order the Italian Beef with hot peppers and extra gravy because they seem to either dip it too much or not enough. The last two times I have ordered (once in person a few months ago and via Doordash today) the cheese is not melted at all. They literally throw the cheese on top and wrap it up. I have had to microwave it to melt the cheese. Also there is barely any meet on it. Very disappointing and I will not be ordering from Portillo's in the future.
This was our 2nd time eating here. The Italian beef and sausage sandwich was great, and so was the bacon deluxe burger. The prices are a bit high, but the taste of the food is worth the price, in my opinion.
Mediocre food. Prices way too high for what it is. I won't go back.
The picture I took may not do this justice. (I should have done a side view.) I ordered the regular sized Italian beef & it was big! FILLED with beef! This has to be the best Italian beef I've had anywhere & I come from a Chicago family! The staff was super friendly. Atmosphere was awesome! I'll be coming back often when I'm in Madison!
