I have always want to try a poke place, as I love sushi. I got maybe ten bites down and had to stop . Everything is bland save for the sauce and it does not taste fresh. I just could not eat any more because I started to be worried about feeling ill. I did get delivery so idk, perhaps eating in the restaurant is a different experience. I was surprised and disappointed because this place has high reviews.
Pick another poke place in town.Let the employee know it was my first time in and asked them for their best poke, and they chose “Signature Ocean Feast.”I would not recommend what I got to anyone. The fish did not taste fresh, there was too much mayo/aioli to be enjoyable, and the mango was crunchy, unripe, and bland. While I appreciate how quickly my food was ready, the quality is just not there, and the price was too high ($18.20) for what I received.
Really well thought out combinations of flavors, textures and proteins, as well as friendly service, make this my favorite poké spot in Madison. They also have a small but nice selection of not-the-usual drinks.
Very reasonable pricing for the portion which I got and the ingredients are very fresh. The service is also quick and efficient. Will definitely come again!
The service here is fast, the staff are cordial, and the prices are reasonable. More importantly, the food is delicious. Poke It Up offers a lot of options that will be sure to suit everyone's tastes—there are even vegetarian dishes. It was my first time eating a sushi burrito (I had the Tsujiki Burrito) and I will definitely be back to try out the other options.
I had the regular ahi tuna bowl on sushi rice / salad with my favorite toppings: masago, avocado, cashews, sesame seeds and mango sauce. It was very good and filling. The ambiance is quite basic and I loved how quiet it was.
