Pleasant bistro on University Avenue in Madison. Menu includes burgers, quiche, salads and sandwiches. Plenty of outdoor seating in the shade, tho traffic noise is a distraction. My burger, requested as medium came well done and was rather dry. The Reubens looked good. Nice wine list with house red and white inexpensive. Service was masked and rather deliberate: staffing shortage?
I went on a Tuesday before 11am.The food was decent, but presented extremely simple like a classic diner. I order the crepes with a side of bacon. The food arrived in roughly 7 minutes. That was unexpectedly fast, which I like. Decent service. Straight to the point!Finally a place where I do not feel like it is overpriced. To me, that is a big deal. Good job!The atmosphere is wonderful.
One of the best brunch cafe in Madison, their lavender latte was amazing and food taste great. Highly recommended!

This establishment does not respect people to make decisions regarding their own health and requires masks for no reason. They are quite aggressive with people who cannot or choose not to wear a mask.
Yesterday, Sunday 2/6/2022, we went there at 9:30 a.m. for breakfast. It was not busy but we stood at the door for an unusually long time before anyone greeted us and took us to a table. Then we were ignored for a long time, so long I went to the bakery counter to buy a morning bun to eat since we were so hungry. I told the bakery person we were waiting for someone to take our order but she didnt' care, just too my money for the bun. We ate the bun and still nobody ever came to our table to take our order. I waived down the young host who showed us our table and said we'd like to order and she saw me but never said anything. She went and got a water pitcher and came to our table and didn't explain, apologize, or say anything. So we got up and left. Won't ever go back.
La Brioche is a cute and bustling local eatery. It was quite busy when my husband, my brother, and I went for brunch (~11am). However, that did not stop the good service and quality food.We ordered the eggs benedict, crepe, and cured salmon omelette, along with a pumpkin spice latte at very fair prices. Everything was delicious and well portioned. If you like breakfast and brunch, this is a great local place. I have not had their dinner menu. However, I will update that in time!I would recommend.
Excellent menu, with a wide variety and plenty of choices, including beverages. Nice flatware and tableware. Loved the teapot. Very comfortable seating and relaxed atmosphere. Took home beautiful and delicious bakery items to enjoy later. Very clean, including the restroom. Looking forward to warm weather outdoor dining.
The atmosphere, the wait staff, the drinks, and the food are always outstanding. We live meeting and eating at La Brioche. I’d highly recommend this place. The overstuffed chairs at some of the tables are a real treat, as are the collection of individual tea pots used to serve tea. Lovely place.
La Brioche is a hidden gem in Madison!! From the moment you enter the restaurant you get an elegant and friendly vibe. Love the beautiful decor of this place and totally in love with the beautiful cups they offer tea in.It was my first time trying this place and absolutely loved it. The food, service, and vibe is a 10/10!!! You must save room for dessert because they have a great selection of baked sweet treats. Highly recommend coming here for breakfast or lunch. This is a great brunch spot offering excellent food. Do make reservations or be prepared to wait because they are always busy.
