Food order was wrong. Took it back and remade order still missing a request for onion. Way too many French fryâs. Why waste so much food. Ordered a second drink which never showed up.

Normally this is one of our favorite places to eat in Madison. But our server seemed to have issues this night. First, he sent me to the wrong side of the restaurant for the rest room. When my 20 oz. dry aged bone in ribeye came out it was well done. Our server asked why I wasn't eating it and I explained that I asked for medium rare and this is well done. He said, oh I thought you said medium well. I did not eat more than four bites as it was just too over cooked for me. He did not even offer to have a new steak cooked. Before bringing us our bill he stated he was sorry about the steak and that he would take care of it. I thought this meant I would not be charged for the steak, but I was wrong, and I was charged for it. I didn't say anything more of it, paid my bill and still left a tip greater than the standard 20%. We plan on going back as normally the food and drinks here are top notch.

This was a birthday dinner as mentioned when making the reservation. No birthday acknowledgment by waitress who was very busy. Steaks were tender but lacked seasoning. Waited ten minutes trying to get water and salt for the table after meals were served. Disappointed in quality and presentation of main course. Crab on tenderloin was cold
Our server, Elisabeth Pellet, was excellent. She was very accomodating, efficient, and made friendly conversation with us--turns out that she grew up in Montello where we live. She let us take our time to enjoy our birthday dinner for my wife.
