Absolutely amazing experience - food is freshly made and arrives to your table in minutes. Top notch sushi rolls full of flavor! Highly recommend to try it out!
Quality food in a very hip environment. We ordered the cold noodles, pork dumplings, pear pressure and sea smoke. Also got the poke bowl to-go. You can tell there was a lot of thought going into each ingredient. Same owner of RED, but this restaurant has a different vibe in space and flavors. It is on the pricier side but it makes sense to me. You really can't go cheap if you want GOOD seafood. I spent about $75 without tip. Located in an upcoming area. Parking was easy to find too. Definitely recommend.
From the staff that greet you with a generous smile when you walk through the door to the rolls, I adore this addition to my neighborhood. I have been here 5 times and ordered the Pear Pressure roll 4 times and XOXO once. In one of my to-go boxes I had the pure joy of discovering an orchid next to the rolls, and today there was a marigold! Thanks, guys!!! I don't know if they do this for everyone or if I'm special, haha. I'll go with I'm special. I do feel the prices are steep for fast-casual but I will go here a couple times a week anyway just for because they're doing something no one else in town does: Fast-casual sushi. Take my money, give me sushi and flowers. Keep up the great food and lovely staff and welcome to my hood!
Food:I enjoyed Jacknife. Two rolls I tried are pear pressure (my favorite) and red velvet. Shrimp dumplings are to die for so juicy and flavorful. You won’t regret trying these. Plenty beverages options non alcoholic as well as light alcohol is served.Atmosphere:Bright colorful space with a lot of energy.Parking:Can be difficult as only street parking near by.Service:Attentive, friendly and efficient. The food was served fast considering that the rolls and dumplings are made fresh from scratch to order.
Feeling underwhelmed, but I like the idea of an up scale fast-food spot serving sushi and sashimi. I saw this was “brought to you by RED” so I think I was expecting a lot. It was good, don’t get me wrong, but I was hoping for more flavor out of the food I got. The pear pressure roll could have been elevated a touch with a slice of jalapeño, but maybe that makes it less accessible for the short and fine-tuned menu. There are options here for your vegan and gluten friendly folks. Vibe is hip, service was FAST, price was a touch high; I’ll be back to try more!
Jacknife was a great experience! Very modern vibes, however, excellent sushi. Expensive. If you are familiar with the quality of sushi at RED in Madison, this is the same but in a fast and casual package.I’ll be coming back.
PSA: it was just 2 of us and we did not need this much food. The rolls are pretty big and filling. Everything was very fresh and good quality. 4 stars because some of the flavor combos weren't our favorite. The shrimp pot stickers are the bomb though. They have great alcohol and drink options too!
Baja bowl was nice. However. the salmon sashimi protein bowl was a disappointment and terrible value. The rice to fish ratio is way off, and the miso sauce didn’t go well. The bowl needs more topping and fish for what I paid ($17). Next time i’d go back for anything but the protein bowl.
Hmm… it was okay but not really worth the money. The sushi was fresh but I didn’t find the flavors or proportions particularly appealing. Could have used more sauce. The dumplings were interesting in their flimsiness and small size. The cheesecake was very heavy on flour and light on cheese, more like an angel food, it definitely could have used something to spice it up as well.. love the convenience factor, but value didn’t add up for me, so I likely wont return.
Amazing food. Friendly staff. Awesome atmosphere. Get the roasted vegetable bowl.
