SOME OF THE BEST FOOD YOU CAN GET IN MADISON.Every item on the menu is a banger, with great staff and a great atmosphere.Plenty of parking nearby as well!

A colleague and I had dinner here, and needed gluten-free as she has Celiac's. The waitress provided a gluten-free menu and personally confirmed with the chef that the food would be cooked that way. We were able to get a table at one of two outdoor patio areas, perfect during COVID for travelers trying to reduce risk. The food was tasty, we enjoyed a long lovely dinner on the patio. I'll be back!

If you have Celiac disease, do not eat here. Met a friend for lunch. We asked for the gluten free menu. Told the server she had the life threatening gluten allergy aka Celiac disease. After she ate, she was viciously sick. Cross contamination was bad! It was very scary. The cooks should be taught to thoroughly clean before plating for a GF meal. If you aren’t going to take the necessary steps then do not serve gluten-free anything to anybody. I expect better.

Stopped in for a quick bite! Fast service, and friendly, too! I tried the Falafel Mediterranean Bowl which was surprising they had, and turned out to be delicious! We also got the cheese curds but they were a bit undercooked and tasted like they were sitting out for a bit.

We had eaten at this location before and had a good experience so we decided to go there to enjoy lunch outside. The host was very efficient and accommodating but everything beyond that was such a disappointment. When our server, Lizbeth, stopped at our table I asked to see a drink menu. She said, "yeah you can go get one from the host station." And just left our table. What? Why would she not go get it? I think she could tell we were a bit surprised by this so avoided our table as much as possible. When she returned I asked if the bartender could make a mint julep (it was Kentucky Derby Saturday). When she returned she said they could make a mint mojito but not a mint julep. Not what I wanted so no thanks. As far as the food goes, my wrap did not taste good and the salad dressing (creamy cilantro) smelled and tasted fishy. Needless to say I didn't eat much of my meal. The experience was just disappointing.

Food is subpar, but the ambience is nice if you're just getting drinks. The fried chicken is horrendously dry. We asked for a new one, and it was out in 5-6 minutes. Well, chicken takes at least 10 to fry, so it's no wonder it was dry again. Is it microwaved?

This is one of our go-to places. Nice atmosphere, great servers, but the food is pretty much ok, just not great. Last time i had the crispy brussel sprouts and they were barely cooked. But this is a great place for bigger parties. Still will return.

We had a delicious meal and waitress was one of the best

The beer selection is great. I had a stout and a scotch ale. Both were a nice temperature and had good flavour profiles. The fish and chips were as expected. They had a nice crust with plenty of tartar sauce. The fries were a bit limp bit the flavour was good. The value for the price is pretty good.

I've been eating at the Great Dane since they first opened on Doty st. and at the one at Hilldale since that one opened. It is characterized by reliably good, if not earth shattering, food and good service.Tonight the service slipped tremendously. My kids and I periodically end up there on Sunday nights after my hockey game. We're seeing an unfortunate trend on Sunday nights where the staff are more focused on cleaning up and watching football than they are on customers. The bartender was pleasant when he got to us, but we were at our table right in his field of view for almost ten minutes before he came over to ask what we wanted to drink. It took another five minutes to bring two root beers and a water and take our order. My water had a lot of ice, which fortunately melted (fortunate as he never check again to see if we wanted refills on anything - to be fair, it was a close game on the TV). When we ordered I asked for a steak knife with my son's burger so we could cut it in half.It didn't come with the food. The woman that brought the food asked if we needed anything else. I asked her for the steak knife. She said "of course" and then we never saw her again.Eventually I managed to catch the bartenders attention while he was cleaning glassware and got our knife. I should probably have asked him for water, as we didn't see him again until I got his attention to ask him to bring to go boxes and the check. To be clear, it was not busy, so being short staffed, if they are, isn't the reason this happened.Frankly, while reliable, the food isn't all that great. What made this place viable for me was the service and the hours. They're really slipping on the service.
