One of the best bars out there. I really enjoyed the long island iced tea up there.If you are in Madison. This is highly recommended !!!
Love Gennas. One of my favorite bars to go to and show people when visiting. Only giving 4 stars because of the grumpy bald bartender. Two weeks in a row ordering from him has felt like he's taking it as an attack. He responded to me asking if he had a recommendation for a beer with, "I don't know dude just ordering something." I made the mistake of asking for a light beer to which he responded, "I don't drink beer just order something." If it was one weekend, fine, bad day, whatever. But this was two weekends in a row. Everyone else there is lovely.
If you don't want to have drinks at Genna's, you don't know how unlucky you are. I usually have my drinks at The Reptile Palace in Oshkosh. Being in Genna's makes me hope for the ability to create wormholes.
Kind of small, but felt safe. Waitress knowledge of available beers was amazing. Got a little loud when the Trivia players arrived.
Liking the proof of vaccination policy. Solid beer lineup and great drinks. Cool vibe.
An awesome bar with attitude and personality.Located in Madison's downtown, Genna's is unassuming on the outside and full of personality on the inside. There's a ton of good music and the crowd is lively. Expect a range of patrons.Disclaimer: I went during a Green Bay game where the Packers won, so my review may be a bit biased.Prices aren't shabby either. Expect $-$$ for drinks. Scotch and cognac options are surprisingly plenty. Scotches will range from your standard larger single malts to Johnnie Walker blends. Cognacs include Hennessy and Martell. There is also a good mix of Canadian, Irish, and American whiskeys.The bartender was great. Tended to our needs and even walked to different tables to make sure everyone was taken care of. Wish I had gotten his name to include in this review.AND THEY SERVE FREE SOUP. What other bar does that? It may not have been a daily thing, but it was perfect for the cold Wisconsin winter.5/5. Favorited, easy.
Phillip was a delight! He treated me with so much warmth and care and was a true gentleman throughout my visit. Not to mention he's sooooo hot, I'll definitely be coming back just to gaze into his beautiful eyes once more.
Upstairs and downstairs seating. Very unique and eclectic place with a really enjoyable vibe. Bartenders and staff are very friendly and talkative.
Incredibly rude and disrespectful bar. Tried to move a table over to situate my brother in a wheelchair, immediately got yelled at by two drunk patrons (employees?) for trying to move something. Owner was also drunk sitting at the bar and sided with her drunk regulars. Absolute joke of a bar, incredibly rude and classless, wouldn’t recommend it to anybody.
