I’ve been here before and my first experience was different. The first time I came, the food was great and the service was okay (not stellar but not awful).Second time I came, we were not warmly welcomed, we didn’t have a reservation and I felt really brushed off like, sit at the window ledge or get out.Outdoor seating became available (this option was not offered to us when we inquired about a waiting list for a table) but husband asked for outdoor seating and we were sat.we waited for them to clean the table but they did not, so I used a baby wipe.We did not get menus. When the server came she apologized we did not have menus and came back with some.Once we ordered we were not once checked on again. I had to go into the building and request a server and someone came but what we ordered did not come out.My husband never got refills and my food was not great. They brought us a check without asking if we wanted anything else - which we did. But I gave up and waited for them to take my card. No one ever came, I went inside to pay.To add context, there were other tables been cared for outside, we were not alone out there and they all seemed to have been getting service.Overall we had a bad experience with the service across the board from the host to each of the servers we encountered (there was no continuity).I wouldn’t come back and only give it two stars because the first experience was better (still not great).
Best burger I've had in a long time, solid (but brief) tap list, and creative & delicious cocktails. Fast, courteous service as soon as we walked in and throughout the drinks/meal. The thing I love most about places like this, is the feeling of comfort as soon as you walk in - like meeting up with an old friend - yet this was the first time I've been to DLUX. Really a hole-in-the-wall feeling despite the fact that it's located in one of the busiest areas in Madison. Whatever they are doing, they're doing it right!
Absolutely delicious and I regret not having tried it sooner!Seeing the name DLUX in Google maps gave me the wrong impression this would be a fancy French dining place where I can't pronounce the entrees or decide where the fork and knife are placed. Instead, it's a classy burger bar with delicious gourmet burgers and shakes.I ordered the "Standard" burger, a side of fries, and a cookies and cream milkshake, coming out to just above $20. The burger was one of the best I've had in a long time - juicy, and the double patty smash burger gives the nice edges of a smash burger while keeping it meaty and juicy. It was a touch on the salty end, but I love salt so it didn't bother me.The fries taste reminded me of the famed golden standard (and golden arches) except extremely fresh and crispy. Similarly, the shake was excellent - almost too sweet, but not quite there.I only waited a couple minutes after ordering for the food to arrive, and the staff were extremely attentive, especially given I came by myself. It's not the largest place, so I'd recommend a reservation for larger groups or during busy times, but I had no issue getting a seat.I consider this a must-see, and intend to return whenever I am craving a quality burger.
Our family went here for an impromptu dinner. We all very much enjoyed our meals and especially the sides. Service was quick and server was friendly.
Great customer service on a busy night and the food was just fantastic. I had the farmhouse burger with Parmesan and truffle cheese fries and it hit the spot. The French fries were the highlight and if I knew how amazing they were I would have ordered a few orders for my whole meal, they were that good. The price was fair and I was so impressed with the whole place.
Second time coming by and they didn’t disappoint! Burger was absolutely amazing. Fresh and juicy! I recommend all day!
Absolutely spectacular shakes. The burgers were perfectly cooked and delicious. I enjoyed the deep fried pickles and cheese curds as well.
Great boozy shakes and I really loved the white chicken chili. A spicy, but creamy soup with just the right amount of heat to keep you coming back for another spoonful. They have a fun selection of toppings for their fries. We tried the cheddar and onion and really liked the sauce.
Soggy fries and mediocre burgers, will not be coming back.
Not really sure what all the hype is about. Fries were soggy and gross, but otherwise the burgers were ok. I just don't think it's worth the price, if you're going to be more on the expensive side, at least provide expensive quality food.
