Nice little hidden gem. Don't tell anybody. The Mac and cheese brisket was really good. Good selection of beer and other food.
Couple random recommendations got us to try it. Friday fish fry. VERY loud, noisy. Service is: write your order on a notepad with (pen/paper provided at table,) bring it to bartender and you take your own drinks, someone will bring the food. Only fish fry on Friday is friend perch (excellent!). Otherwise various smoked sandwiches. Needed to leave credit card with bartender (not so comfortable) and tab would be given when you were ready to checkout. Guess we will trust them…Wisconsin always does things different. Well…even though it was reminiscent of the Northwoods… not Northwoods. If I lived nearby, would return. Travel a bit, no. Too many other fish fries in Wisconsin to return here. Biggest turn off is leaving a credit card out of sight at the bar with a stranger.

Absolutely awesome. The place is cozy and everyone is friendly. The food is great. The brisket scrumptious and the meatloaf flavorful. The new cook is amazing. The wings were tender and juicy and the buffalo sauce not too hot. Heard the chef makes a mean fried chicken.....cant wait to try it!!
If you're a local that they (recognize). Your fine, the bartender will even come to your table for drinks, your food will be fast. But if not your credit card will be asked to be held even though I said I was paying with cash, your ticket may get lost or just forgotten to be put in. Here is the thing though I'm NOT a drinker so the delay was noticed and was not appreciated. The food was excellent, the only reason for the 3 stars.
You can't find a more perfect traditional Wisconsin tavern. Fantastic people and service, great pizza (they provide shakers with grated parmesan, red pepper flakes, AND oregano!). Haven't tried any of the appetizers yet, but we will be back to do so!
The Owl Tavern is definitely an out of the way local favorite. The food is great and it's an easy place to mingle.
Solid bar, very friendly bartenders, reasonable prices. Pool & darts also.
Cozy little place for locals and newcomers alike. Little lights everywhere. There is a bartender there named Risa who is wonderful. Very friendly, professional, and welcoming. Nice place!
