Been going here for years and it's a beautiful place with amazing staff! The patio has a view of the river and slips to hangout on. During the summer when they are super busy they still make sure everyone is treated amazing. The food is great and I recommend trying the wings, quesadilla, and hangover burger. I don't do alot of google reviews but definitely worth checking it out.
Interesting food options. Highly recommend caramelized grilled cheese! The fun is on the outside! Yum!
Great pit stop on our way to SW Minnesota! Turkey burger w side salad and River Tots were quite tasty! Didn’t give it 5 stars as they didn’t have a daily soup choice. The outdoor seating and river views are a plus to enjoy an adult beverage. A little tough to find - but worth the search. Friendly staff, dogs and patrons. Can’t wait to stop again.

We stopped at River Rats for dinner on a visit with our teenage daughter. It was quite busy when we arrived, but quickly cleared out. We ordered cheese curds for an appetizer and two burgers and a steak salad for dinner. Service was a bit slow, but we were OK waiting for a bit and had a few drinks while waiting. Our cheese curds took a while, but were good when we finally got them. Our server apologized multiple times for the wait for the dinners. Stating she wasn't sure why it was taking so long, that it should be done in about 15 minutes. We waited some more and were told the food was being cooked. It had been an hour since we got there and it didn't appear there were any other people eating at this time. The canned vodka seltzers started out good, but a couple in they didn't taste right - I was told they were probably old. The place was taking on more of a bar atmosphere as it was about 8pm and the music kept getting louder and louder. Requested the food to go as we didn't want to eat at the loud bar. Waited some more and were told the food was being packaged to go. Waited another 15 minutes and finally just paid for our drinks and told them to forget the food. We got there shortly after 7 and left around 8:30 without food. The only upside was the pretty location right on the river.
Great burgers! Fried green beans and river front beer! Off the path, but worth the drive.
Use to love this place, total disappointment now. Was there a month ago. Took 20 minutes to order and an hour to get food. 3 of the 4 orders were wrong with the last one coming out 40 minutes after the first one came. Went today and after trying to order a drink for 15 minutes and hearing it would be an hour wait for food, we just walked out.
Fraking. Epic. Will be back. Been coming to WI for 5 separate trips. Best bar experience thus far. Frick 5 star ratings... Entertainment 10/10. Rum bucket 10/10.
