My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful meal for our 38 anniversary last Thursday!! The spatzle and German potato salad was some of the best I’ve had!! Thank you for a great time!! A happy couple from Iowa!!

This is my favorite hangout spot in La Crosse. The atmosphere is pretty cool. The bartenders and wait staff are incredible and friendly. The beer selection is good. You can get a big glass liter of beer. The food is good. I recommend the chicken schnitzel. I’m convinced The Bierhaus has the best fries in the coulee region. I have yet to have a soggy fry. And they’re perfectly seasoned with salt and pepper. I’d highly recommend going. It’s good for taking friends, a fun date night, or just to chill and have good beer and food. Also, they often have live polka which is always a win in my book.

Overly aggressive bouncers with homophobic tendencies. I watched another bar-goer get rejected at the door because their ID photo looks different than their face. The bar-goer calmly explained that they are transitioning and gladly provided a credit card and debit card with their name on it. The bouncer refused entry and the bar-goer said they would go somewhere else but the bouncer refused to give the ID back. By this time the bar-goer was agitated and had some choice words for the bouncer and the bouncer picked them up off the sidewalk and slammed them into the sidewalk. Police were called but nothing became of it. So disappointing that the club clearly had no tolerance or acceptance for LGBTQ individuals and resorted to violence when de-escalation wasn’t even attempted. Would NOT recommend.

I was outside the restaurant and bar and thought about going in and seeing if food was available. Could not go in, there were so many cops I thought this could not be a safe place to be.

The food and beer were good. The giant pretzel is an awesome group dish. Word of warning, it's the size of a pizza!

Service was superb considering myself and a friend were the only ones eating at the time. Food was excellent. I would highly recommend.

I really wanted to like this place more than I did. The pretzel was great and I love their mustard. The atmosphere was fine, not exceptional. The worst part about the place was actually their German food. The spätzle is the worst I’ve ever had. It was more like mashed potatoes than actual noodles. Their kraut wasn’t very good. Their selection of German foods is minimal. I do much wanted to give it a better review, but at the end of the day it really didn’t rise above the level of any other corner watering hole.

The food was really good and the atmosphere was fun. I would love to come back again soon. My favorite food was the giant pretzel.

This place is great — the food is great- the people working there are great— the beer and drinks are great — The German music is great —- What can I say It’s a great experience — I have lived in Germany and visited there over forty times —Prosit to the Bierhaus ??— Thank you for being a part of LaCrosse

Understanding that a lot of places are affected by Covid, the waitress we had did a great job despite being short staffed for the lunch hour. Sadly the food was a major disappointment with everything being dry and tasteless.
