I ordered a chopped sirloin dinner medium. When the food came out the meat was black on the bottom and well done. I sent it back stating the obvious. Our very young waitress comes back and says to me, " would you like something else or should i take it off the bill so you dont have to wait". I was dumb founded. What she should have said was we are making a new one and it will be a few minutes and would you like your fries while you wait?. I just looked at her blankly and said take it off.Your restaurant is absolutely horrible and the food is awful!
It's always been a solid choice. Try the burgers and the dumpling soup. You won't be disappointed.
We had a big group and it was good. My son's fish sandwich was impressive looking but also fishy tasting.My 2 piece fish was very good though.
Server was great. Food was great. Add a couple of drinks, and the symphony across the street, and you have a nice date night.
They might have good food but there help they have is very awful and very unprofessional especially when it comes to getting a take out order..You walk in and ask to get a take out order and immediately your push off too someone else who is as much of a pot head as the person you ask to get the take out order from in the first place and really should not be that hard to have a simple tack like that be so hard to get pulled off....Now I was told by one of the employees that there fish was good and it is good when you actually get someone half way decent to give the order too in a mannerly fashion...I give this place 1 star for the unprofessional staff that is currently there and I hope if they want to be top notch that everybody knows what there rolls are starting off with the BAR crew of this place the bartender take bar orders that means drink and also food its kind of a multi tack job a bar waitress is a person that walk the outside of the bar taking multi orders from table she is assign too and is also subject to the person who walk from the outside in to place a take out order to them not told its not there job and refer to another person THAT IS THERE JOB!!!!!!!Perhaps management needs to visit another restaurant bar business like Features in West Salem and take notes on how a well organized and a professional staff really acts...I would not recommend this place too no one because of the unprofessional staff this place has it can't make its mind up if it's a BAR or if it's a restaurant or if it's BOTH!!! definitely it isn't BOTH!!!! cause if it was it would not be run the way it is...
My wife and I stopped in for lunch recently on a Friday and decided to try the fish. We heard good things about the food so thought we'd try it out. She ordered the fish sandwich and I ordered the large (3 piece) fish dinner. Both were served with crinkle cut fries. Both the fish sandwich and the fish dinner were fabulous. Large thick chunks of hot crispy fish fresh from the fryer. The coleslaw was very tasty as well. The waitress was very pleasant and made us feel at home. Would definitely recommend if you want a good Wisconsin fish fry! We'll be back for sure to try some of the other specials.

Our food was delicious! Total for 8 people was $120... which wasn't bad for good food. The restaurant is cute. It was loud inside... but there were several big groups inside. I'm interested in checking it out on another night.
Food is is always good Service is good as well I've always thought there price we're okay. Depending on the bartender the drinks are good as well.
We went to Houghton’s on a Thursday for the meatball special. The meatballs were great but they ran out of meatballs so we didn’t get as many as we ordered. They seemed short staffed and we had to wait for service.
