I used to love visiting this place when I was in town. Yesterday we stopped by for breakfast to spend time with friends before heading to the airport. My friends put in their orders at approximately 10:10am and it took over an hour for a Cali Baja bagel and Bagel w/peanut butter for the kid.We put in two items, a wrap and bagel, and also waited close to an hour before finally telling them to cancel our orders. There were at least 5 staff members milling around at any given time, offering zero help to move orders along. The staff was unapologetic and at times smirking/laughing at customers asking for refunds. They refused to provide a receipt for proof of refund initiation.I realize everywhere is having staffing issues, but this place clearly was not based on all the idle people standing around.Management needs to train their staff to better. This won't be my first choice for breakfast next time I'm in town.
I really want to love this place again. Since pandemic, I know it is hard to find good employees. Food & presentation is inconsistent. Employee at register was annoyed with my 2 questions about a coffee because of an old menu posted online. Really?! Also, you need to update ALL menus online for consistency. I will keep visiting because I’m a small business supporter of Kenosha & I have faith that it will be fantastic again!
Stopped here to get some work done in between appointments and also grabbed a black tea and salad! This cafe has been hiding from me way too long! Loved it and the decor and cozy feel.
Terrible menu choices. Absolutely horrible sounding food. Nothing for a careful eater. I ordered vegetable soup out of desperation. It was the saltiest soup I have ever tasted. Inedible. Toast was burned. Very nice wait staff.
I stopped in for lunch with my girlfriend and was happy to see a smoked salmon sandwich on the menu with aioli, tomato, avocado, smoked salmon, leafy greens on 'sourdough bread' for a price of $12, indicating it was going to be worth it.First of all, there was no sourdough bread. I was given normal, poor quality sandwich bread, not even an attempt to make the bread half decent. I find it unacceptable to lie on a menu about the item you're going to receive and as a baker myself, I found it offensive. My sandwich was very dry as it was missing aioli, a reasonable mistake if the sandwich was $12. The salmon I received was 'hot' smoked salmon, which they should specify on the menu. At this point I was thoroughly disappointed but was half way through my sandwich so I was going to eat the rest and walk away feeling regretful that we ate there.I bit into my second half of the sandwich and noticed a clear gelatine like substance in the salmon, I inspected it and found that it hadn't fully defrosted yet. At this point I could even finish it, so I had to send the food back and was immediately offered a refund with no apology.I ended up going to the coffee pot diner down the road and got a better quality meal for nearly a third of the price! These modern, 'hipster' cafes that are becoming more popular are supposed to encourage people to eat things they wouldn't normally make and to make healthier choices. Instead, on this day, the cafe was simply overpriced with no pleasant server/customer interaction. Yup, very disappointed.
I want to like this place. It has a great atmosphere and decent food. However, every time I go in there I feel that I am doing them a favor buying a 5 dollar drink. Most recently they messed up my order and when i pointed it out to them, they just looked at me like I was nuts. I just said forget it and moved on. It wasn't worth the discussion. Their Baristas have a lot of attitudes which is very unfortunate.
Ordered a large vanilla oat milk latte - tasted burnt? Very mid latte, definitely not a $8 latte quality.Won't be coming back for espresso drinks. The vibes, however, were immaculate - hence 2 stars.
Get there early. Take over the coach in the back or table. They r by an exit door, perfect 4 a fast escape if zombies attack inside the coffee shop.
food is spectacular! great service & food. prompt & delicious. ??
I came in with a couple of people on a quiet cold weekday. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the cafe. I ordered the orange blossom tea which smelled like pledge. My friend never had a cortado which is espresso and milk foam. I asked if he liked it and he said it tasted like thick coffee and it didn't have milk foam. However, we did not take it back to complain.
