Food was good and portions were fair, and service was great, even on a busy Saturday night.We had a party of four and ordered the excellent cheese curds and garlic/parm chips for appetizers. Very good ?I ordered the shrimp and grits and it was excellent. The buttery, bacon grits were so good and rich ?Fish and chips, fish tacos, and prime rib sandwich were also ordered. Everyone enjoyed their meals.Ordered a couple of deserts that were good as well.Server always was attentive to our table’s needs and was super friendly even when it was obvious she had her hands filled.Highly recommended.
We went for lunch at 12:45 last Saturday. The place was not real busy, it was our first time there, probably won’t return. We didn’t get our drinks (no alcohol) until at least 20 mins after we were seated. Our order was the large pretzel, calamari, cheese sticks, shrimp tacos, mastacolli and the Nashville Chicken sandwich. The appetizers arrived about 2pm! The calamari was so heavily seasoned with cayenne so as to be unedible. The tacos, pasta and sandwich arrived about 2:15. The Nashville chicken sandwich was not 1/4 inch thick and although it’s listed as seasoned, it too was so covered in cayenne as to make it unedible also, because it was so thin, it was very overcooked along the edges. We did ask for a manager, who removed the calamari and the cheese sticks. The pasta was ok, the shrimp tacos not so much, the Nashville chicken sandwich was horrible, the waffle fries that were with the sandwich were cold. Very poor service and unappealing food. Not at all recommended. By the way, it was not busy. The reason given for the slow service was a last minute big take out order and short kitchen staff. That is somewhat acceptable but a table of 8 (we were 5) that arrived 20 minutes after was served their hot appetizers well before we were.
The wedge salad is huge! Great entree salad or shareable for 2-3
Everything is great! Live new chefs salmon special. Great flavors coming together. Perfect combination. Scallops with risotto is another favorite. Drinks are great. Best view in town
I can say that my first experience here was welcoming.. I loved the waitress and how nice and warming it was to communicate with.. she was helping in my order.. I can say the shrimp aThai was very very good.. and the salmon dinner try it ; so try it.. I also had a peach adult beverage . The owner was nice too.. he was very welcoming .. conversation was very helpful for a person that like sweet adult beverages.. my partner had a Long Island ice tea it was nice.. but more for a man to me..
We’ve been going to The Boat House since it opened over 20 years ago, it has gone through some ups and downs but for the most part, we’ve always enjoyed our visits there. The food was average pub food but I think lately the food has gotten much better reviews, wish I could say the same for the drinks. Not a fan of the premixed “Teas”, hand pour a good drink and charge a fair price. My husband had a Lynchburg lemonade that should be Jack Daniels, triple sec, a splash of sweet and sour mix and topped with 7 up or sprite. What he had was a weak mixture of their pre mixed “tea”, a whiff of Jack Daniels and it looked like a large glass of lemonade. Very bad. Cut corners where you will but make a decent drink. Very disappointing. Step it up new owner.
The food was delicious. The view was incredible and the service was informative, fast, and friendly!A fun place to eat! I would highly recommend eating at the Boat House Pub and Eatery!
(Update Review-Previously 5 Stars)Let me start off by saying, we have never walked out of a restaurant, but it happened today.This place used to be great however, to my understanding there have been changes in management/ chef that occurred sometime last year. Since then, we have noticed a less than usual quality to the experience, which is somewhat understandable given a change.When we arrived today(3 of us), it was not particularly busy at all. We sat inside. We were given menus and told that she would be back to take our drink order. When we ordered the drinks , we asked to place the entire order as our son was getting tired. 20 minutes later, the drinks arrive. (Water, a bottle of beer and a kids sprite that was given to us in a large cup with no lid) We were finally checked on 20 minutes later to be told that our food would be out soon, never asked to refill our near empty drinks. We continued to wait until we noticed another table who arrived much after us receive their food. At this point we have been there for about an hour. We left payment for the single drinks and left.During the summer, we come here almost every weekend after the beach. We are sorry to say, we will not be eating here again.
Good food and service was good. A little busy so get there early. . Great burger as well. Will go back and try something else on there menu. Support local businesses and enjoy downtown Kenosha. It's Summertime baby!!!!
Excellent food and patio seating. The drinks were very weak. The service was awefu! No busing, no follow up on the meal, and sharable appetizers had no plates or bowls to eat from.. When we finally got a hold of our waitress, she bought us coffee saucers and not appetizer plates. The bad service just about ruined our meal.
