I like change, but not when it comes to my doctors, banks, vets, dry cleaners, or barbers. Well, I feel the same way about restaurants, near and far, and the Birchwood Grill is near top of the list of my all-time and all-the-time favorites. I've had breakfast, lunch and dinner at Birchwood, and found the buffet to be well prepared and consistent every time. The steam table is always filled with terrific food from beef, pork, fish, and chicken to potatoes, rice, and pastas. You should checkout the menu for details, and the salad bar offers more variety than I've ever seen anywhere in the world. Teriaki-marinated mushrooms...need I say more? Homemade soups, breads, desserts nutritionally balance the main courses and flavorful appetizers. The value exceeds the price. Specials abound making Birchwood an affordable treat for a couple to big families or business parties. Reserve a private wing or room and draw your friends and coworkers from Illinois and Wisconsin to a memorable venue. The decor is awesome. The waitstaff rank among the most friendly and talented customer-centric team than I have experienced in any restaurant (I have yet to find an unpleasant employee and that's rare in any business.) In this day and age of Big Food Chains serving poorly grown, under-nutritional foods, the family-owned, locally-run Birchwood Grill is the place to support with your hard-earned dollars. Get to know, like and trust them for healthy eating when you can't or won't cook at home. DH
We enjoyed their soup & salad bar buffet. There were 2 soups, a mixed green salad with toppings & a few other side salads. I like that they always have a crab salad. We had eaten a good breakfast, so didn't even look at what was on the regular buffet. Had fruit & various puddings for dessert. We made a special stop to meet friends on our way home to Chicago.
First time there for Easter Brunch. Very good selection for breakfast, soup, salad, main course and dessert. The set up was good with very few delays. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Would like to return when the regular menu is available
We love the Friday night Buffet! So many choices cod, perch, baked cod, fried shrimp, cocktail shrimp, 2 soup, big salad bar. Waaaay better than a Golden Corral buffet! They also have different flavors of Long Island Ice Teas :)
We had the most amazing dining experience!! We felt like family!! The waitress gave a special piece of cheesecake to our son that just graduated from Navy bootcamp today!! ❤️. She made everything extra special, it wasn't loud or too busy. We enjoyed the buffet, so many choices!! You have to visit if you are in the area or taking a Sailor on Liberty, not as far to drive and traffic was not as busy like Chicago!! 16 thumbs up!!
Owned by the same family who operated Baker Street Restaurant for over 40 years, Birchwood Grill has all the charm, cheerie service, and super food in a tremendous location off Hwy 50 and I94 in Kenosha. My first time here and I couldn't stop taking photos. The sisters who operate the bistro (ooh-la-la) were on top of the best filled salad bar, entree table, and dessert stands, bar none in the state. We celebrated St Paddy's Day with Miller Light Green beer, and the most delicious and tender meats, veggies, potatoes, and much more. Reservations are not required, but highly recommended. Plenty of room to spread out your family and lots of areas to host private gatherings. Check out the photos and give your pallet a tasty adventure this weekend. A bargain buffet for any and every holiday. And don't forget their necktie collection from Baker...they're all right her now at the Birchwood Grill.
Our first visit here as we pass through the state. The salad bar was fabulous! The shrimp/rice was good as evidenced by it was almost gone. The ribs and pork roast were a plenty possibly becaused they lacked flavor. Chicken was mediocre. The deserts were good. We didn't try the breakfast foods. The price was good. We feel like they have a good thing here, like with all of us, need to improve a little and dust a bit along with keep family contentions a bit quieter and this place will shine brighter. Best of luck to years of serving good food to happy people.
We love these owners. They epitomize small town friendliness and personalized care by hosting community groups. How many restaurants say they maintain an all you can eat buffet? We always enjoy their salad bar along with hot food dishes. I come for the homemade creamy garlic dressing.
At least three birthday parties today and they still killed it for my nieces. It was so busy I could hardly find a place to park. Very friendly staff and excellent environment. The servers were very nice and everything was prompt. Good pizza and salad bar. Great job to the staff.
Just had dinner here. Had the salad bar and buffet and everything was delicious! The martinis were excellent too! I highly recommend being seated in Mary and Barb's section, super friendly and they'll take great care of you!
