My husband and I, along with another couple, went to this restaurant last night off the recommendation of friends. While I will say the food was good, our service was absolutely terrible. We got there at 6:00pm. We sat down, had our drink order placed, as well as a food order all in reasonable timing. Our drinks came quickly as did our appetizer (beer cheese garlic bread/fries - was okay but not something I’d order again). But that’s when the service stopped. Our server never came back to ask if we wanted more drinks. We had 1 round of beverages and that’s it for the 1.75 hours we were there. There was a food runner who brought out our food (younger so couldn’t take a drink order). Our food orders came out wrong and we were never checked on to see if they could be fixed (one of us upgraded to fries and added lettuce/tomato to a burger, and someone else asked for a side of ranch). When we were asked if we want our checks, she said okay and then disappeared for another 15 mins before completing the whole transaction at the table. One other note worth mentioning was that the tables were extremely close. When I sat at the high top chair, I had to carefully slide in to not smack the person behind me. Our chair were so close, with me sitting as close to the table as I could, that I could feel every time the person behind me shifted in their chair. It might be a good idea to take a table out.
We liked the quiet atmosphere at early dining. However, the prices were high for the quantity of food and drinks. The burger was lukewarm with homemade potato chips, that don’t justify the price. They could reduce costs by $2-3 and would be in running with other restaurants. We were out to enjoy and try new tastes and atmosphere and we enjoyed or meals.
Never will I make this mistake again. The people working here don’t seem to be interested in doing any work at all.The entire time I was there the waiters and bartenders were mostly all hanging out behind the bar laughing with each other. They were not spending much time on their customers at all.Honestly the food was okay. I was expecting a lot more based on the higher star reviews here. But it wasn’t worth the price they charge. What I really hate is how the staff just doesn’t seem to care about the customers at all. We honestly felt like it was an inconvenience every time we had to flag our server down to ask for something (and we had to literally keep getting her attention somehow because she did not stop to check on us herself almost the entire time).I think the problem might be the staff is very young and I did not see any older type of manager at all.The entire experience was just really aggravating and we kind of just wanted to finish our meal quickly so we could get out of there. It was a shame because it’s actually set up pretty nicely in there. Then imagine coming on this page and seeing these nasty comments from the owner at the negative reviews. I was kind of shocked. I wonder if I’m going to get that as well.Edit (1/9/22):I’ve read a lot of reviews for the White Dog and it seems like there are quite a few very specific, VERY negative reviews and then all of a sudden there will be a ton of great reviews right afterwards.I know that a business can easily make up for a really bad negative review by getting friends of employees or whomever to quickly put in a bunch of great reviews. This page looks bad all around.
Love this place! The food is fabulous, the drinks are great and the staff is friendly and fun. We spend a lot of time there! The outdoor space is a great addition and we enjoy the live music!
White Dog was an unexpected pleasure. Great menu. The soups (seafood bisque and wild mushroom and Brie) were tremendous. The gyro was about the best I've had. Really wonderful wait staff and the decor was wonderfully quirky.
NOT ONLY IS WHITE DOG THE BEST PLACE FOR BRUNCH.. They offer a great selection of lunch and dinner to. Quite often they have a band or acoustic talent which really makes it a fun place for friends and family alike. I would highly suggest for the person looking to get a meal gift card for the holidays too and continue to support local during this pandemic. Idk that I'd choose a different breakfast spot! My go to is the French toast breakfast meal! ❤ ? ?
Found this gem from TripAdvisor rating. Food was beyond expectations. Had the Lobster Mac and cheese and the Chicken Cordon Brie. Spectacular!!! Everyone was so friendly and we had Darren M for our waiter. He was just the best!
I went for Lunch and was so impressed with the chefs versions of these dishes!Tuna Poke was a large portion so be aware. I'm not sure if it was on the appetizer list or dinner. I didn't care haha it all looked so good and very detailed. The Stuffed Mushrooms are the best in Green Bay hands down. Nothing much frozen here. I had 2 Bloody Marys as well and they were delightful. The crowd was quiet and content. Queen was playing so I was very happy about that after stressful day I had had. I will definitely be back. ?⬛
My mom and I ate here back in July and loved everything about the experience so I decided to come back for my birthday. We both ordered the 3/3 oz tenderloins, cooked medium and medium well. If it wasn't for the Cook labeling the two meals wrong it would have been DELICIOUS. The server did not ask us if we wanted dessert before giving us the check, which we did. After receiving the bill, I seen we were charged a dollar more per dessert than stated on the menu. We drove over an hour to eat here so it was definitely a letdown and I can't say that I will be back.
Cute funky place. Super nice staff. Good drink menu. Went for Sunday brunch. I wanted to like it More than I did. Had eggs Benedict with some kind of textured artificial lobster as listed on the menu. The English muffin was soggy. The Hollandaise sauce was flavorless. The Potatoes were frozen hash browns. The biscuits and gravy was better than the lobster eggs Benedict. Fast service. Nice wait Staff. Will try again. Just hoping for more Need to better prepare and execute the ideas.
