I grew up in Green Bay, and I enjoy returning to see all of the new things going on -- like this place! The café offers a great view of Lambeau, good food, and awesome service. I have been here more than once, and the service has been impeccable each time. A worthwhile and impressive place to visit or bring visitors to.
First the good: our server Shelly was absolutely delightful. The building and atmosphere was fantastic, with a very unique décor. The cocktails were excellent and innovative. The bad: The food was mediocre at best. I have worked fine dining for a long time, and I was floored at how poor the food was. The flash fried lobster was underdone, the wild rice soup was lukewarm and flavorless, my wife's gnocchi was mush, and my beef short rib was bland and flavorless. It was like eating a dry pot roast on lukewarm boxed mashed potatoes.I was very disappointed that this mediocre to poor experience cost well over $200 after tip. I sincerely hope the back of house gets their ducks in a row, and bring in a competent exec. chef.
The experience at Taverne in the Sky is definitely memorable. The server, Kim, does a wonderful job talking about the menu and taking care of her guests. Kudos to the kitchen staff for the great tasting appetizers (the featured pot stickers and it's spicy sauce was so good!), entrees (the farro with the salmon, yum!!) and desserts (highly recommend the carrot cake!). The atmosphere is very comfortable and welcoming, along with a great view of Lambeau Field and the city streets.
Very nice hotel and restaurant, well designed with a good view of Lambeau. Overall, the prices are too high for the quality of the meal and service. Charcuterie board was good. We had the rotisserie chicken and evening special - filet mignon with shrimp. The chicken was pretty basic, not super flavorful; the filet mignon was cooked just right, but lacked complex flavor; and the shrimp were just steamed and did not really go with the steak's lackluster sauce. The vegetable sides were good. Cheesecake seemed like a frozen product with random sauces added, none of which really went together. I noticed toward the end of the meal that all the tables around us had received bread except for us. Other restaurants in the areas offer much better food and consistent service at the same price point.
My wife and I went here for the second time and both ended up getting food poisoning.Wings and soup were good but the steak was not good at all especially for the price. WAY too much sauce added. Was very disappointed in the food for how expensive everything was. It was icing on the cake to get sick that night from the food.
A view of Lambeau that CANNOT be beat, combined with top level service and unique and bold flavors make Taverne in the Sky an experience that stands out above the rest.
Fine restaurant for a hotel. We ate here twice while in Green Bay. Service was good. Food was reasonable and moderately priced. Super convenient. Hosts were lovely and our severs too. Would recommend if you’re staying at the Kohler Lodge.
We had drinks after dinner & a Resch Center show at the Taverne in the sky. We imbibed on the balcony. What an amazing view of Lambeau! The drinks really hit the spot, and we enjoyed sitting outside, and the fireplaces removed the chill from the air. Definitely an excellent experience!
Great views and service. Not crowded during the Packer Game, with plenty of TV's.
Great experience good drinks delicious dinner. Hannah was very friendly and attentive.
