This was our second and final visit to Koko’s since their move from downtown. The atmosphere is less cozy in this new location but that is the least of their worries. First, my wife’s Mohito had rotten mint leaves in it. The edges were black and clearly spoiled. The her salad had clearly been prepped the day before, as the carrots were dehydrated and offputting. The presentation of our main courses was adequate but very average. The waitress made no attempt to comp us for our drink. Lastly, the playlist at the restaurant continues to be more appropriate for a mechanic’s shop or bar than for a refined sushi meal.
Really enjoyed the poke tuna appetizer that was their daily special. They were quite accommodating when I asked to sub the smoked salmon with fresh salmon for their Philly roll. The La Fiesta roll was honestly my favorite. My husband and brother-in-law were pretty quiet when food arrived as they were enjoying every morsel they could! We ended the night with their apple crumb cheesecake. YUM! Only complaint was service was a tad slow but who knows what was going on in the background.
Food was good . Could have been more quantity for the cost. Service was complete garbage. I feel like we were judged by our waiter because we weren't fancy enough. It took forever to get our bill, for my pot of tea and my husband's mountain dew. We watched our waiter chat with customers he clearly knew - he stood and leaned against the giant at tree for more than 10 min while we stared at him talking to the customers he knew, waiting for our drinks. Complete garage for service. Won't be going back. Simply not impressed.
If you are a sushi lover, and appreciate timely and friendly service, I would not recommend this place. Our sushi rolls ranged from $10-$14 and the rolls were only six small pieces, which consisted mostly of rice. Not impressed with this place, I have no issue spending money on good food, but I hate to leave somewhere hungry after paying a hefty price tag.
Seated quickly. It was busy, service was a little slow, but my waitress was really friendly. Totally worth it. Great atmosphere and great sushi!
Whenever people ask me about my favorite reliable restaurant in Green Bay, the words Koko Sushi come out of my mouth.Very pleasant staff and high quality food & service. You get what you pay for, Paul is great and truly cares for his customers. The menu has something for everything. Koko is a prime example of treat your customers right and the rest will follow.
Went to Koko Sushi Bar and Lounge for dinner tonight and was more than underwhelmed. the pros: Drinks were good. My daughter liked her teriyaki chicken. the mid: sushi rolls were OK. The full review: I ordered: caterpillar, la fiesta no salsa, 1/2 all sake sashimi. Escobar. packer backer raw my daughter: chicken teriyaki my other daughter: chicken fried rice. The sushi rolls were very small for "special" rolls. the dragon roll was very good flavor wise. the sashimi looked like a normal piece of sashimi cut in half so skinny pieces. everything else was just meh. none of the fish tasted fresh. My super white tuna wasn't even white. it was VERY fishy. My daughters chicken fried rice was .... just not good. it was very mushy. she ate the chicken off the top (isn't it usually mixed in?) and that's about it. my other daughter loved her chicken. When we got there it was dead. and the server seemed very busy and took a very long time. by the time we left it was busy so understandable. overall prob 2/5 and we prob won't go back.
***Koko Are Thieves! Don't Go There!!!***And their sushi is NOT that good!!Go to "Sushi Lover" instead! Better quality and less expensive than Koko!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Our family went to eat sushi @ Koko to try something new. Beautiful design restaurant, but don't let it fool you. @ the end of the meal we got the bill of $210 dollars & when we give the credit card to pay it, we noticed they charge us more then what was on the original bill!!!!!When we complain about it they simply say: "its extra for people that pay in credit card" Why do I need to get punished using credit card?????? And why you didn't notified us about it ahead of time?!They replied: "We have it posted on the door"!!!!!! seriously you guys?! ?♀️?♀️?♀️ What a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!! What if I'm not reading English?! What if I didn't saw the sign? Why not let the customers know about it before they sitting down and ordering from your menu?!?!We felt like someone literally stole our money with no logical explanation!!!!WHAT A SHAME!!!!And on top of it, the sushi DIDN'T justified the price at all!!!!!!!?Go to "Sushi Lover"!!!!!much better sushi & good ppl?!!!!
Great decor/ambiance, the appetizer “hand grenades” are AMAZING. Caterpillar roll is one of my personal favorites. :)
My wife and I normally love Koko, eating there at least once a month. Our experience this evening was disappointing. We ordered take out for Valentine’s Day and my son’s birthday. I picked up the order within a half hour of placing it. The sushi did not taste fresh, there was a fishy taste. So much so that we had to throw half of our $100 plus order away. We will be taking a break from Koko after this evening.
