I’m severally disappointed with our food and, especially, the service. Usually El Sarape is always a good stop for us, but this time not so much. We stopped for dinner on a Sunday night and the service SUCKED. I understand it’s difficult to find workers right now, but I specifically remember counting over 5-6 employees at the front desk all at once, several times — including our waitress. Secondly, I really dislike when you have a whole restaurant open and you put all 3 groups right on top of each other. Additionally, we had a couple right next to us in a booth, with the same waitress, that came 20 minutes after us who had their drinks, order taken and food before got any of ours.To say I was disappointed is an underestimate. If I visit El Sarape again, I’ll go out of my way to go to the East Side.
Just finished my terrible meal. Just kidding. I didn’t finish it because it was so bad. Waitress didn’t even bring our table of four all our drinks. My husband sat our whole meal with no drink after asking multiple times. For WATER. no ice in the TAP water? Gross. No straws were offered. The food was tasteless and subpar, has me questioning if I have Covid. Ordered cheese dip, when it came our chip basket was empty, but low and behold, more chips never came. Surprise. Waste of time, and money. I paid it all, I even tipped the waitress who decided talking with her coworkers was more important than helping her one table. Yikes. Never again. Spoke to the manager. He said he would talk to “them”. That’s it. Helpful. Should have ordered pizza.
Food was absolutely amazing. Service was very attentive to the correct level. Not over bearing. Shakes are a touch on the tiny side but thats the worst thing. No wait for seating on a Friday night and they were busy. My second visit and so far 2/2 for wins.
Big location that has brightly colored booths and plenty of TVs. Food and service were fine with large portions and the usual sides (shrimp a la Diablo had salad, rice and a choice of tortillas). I thought the smaller east side location used to offer more flavor in its food.
Went there with the family and ordered dinner, it came and my dish as well as my daughter's was burnt, mine was inedible, I told the waiter and he got the manager who took my plate (which was the worst) back to the cook. Brought it back and said the cook said it was fine...... "What"!!! Wouldn't take it back or take it off my bill and I was pretty upset. They like serving BURNT meat and not taking responsibility for it. Will not go back after this was out #1 go to spot and they wouldn't work with us.upsetting bit there are other Mexican restaurants.
Nice staff and good menu. Some of the entrees (chile relleno and burrito) was not the best but the enchilada was good.Beautiful decor though! The bar area is going through construction but once it is done it looks like a great place to watch sports.
Food got good taste and our server was friendly and very attentive during our visit. I oder the parrillada We stop by after a long day of work with other team members
My first experience here was great. Each visit since has been dismal. Each time the same mgr, (owner?) asks how my experience was I give an honest, respectful response. I honestly think he asks out of habit but doesn't do anything differently. This visit, aside from the food being less than desirable, this mgr sat in a booth the whole time we were there, waiting and waiting for ANY staff to make an appearance.I don't think I'll eat here again.
Great food, huge portions, friendly and attentive waitstaff, very clean restaurant. I love that they also have coffee here. Will absolutely be coming back!
First time eating here... The serape with spicy sauce all over the top was absolutely fantastic. The burrito was big... More like the size of a duraflame log. Just perfect for a hardy appetite. Chips and salsa where a great starter and the "Betty" ice cream / whipped cream/honey drizzle over baked tortilla chips sprinkled with cinnamon and chocolate sauce was a great finish. Would definitely eat here again. ??
