Update: 3 to 4 stars based on the response from the owner.I will come back for another venture, thanks for the prompt and objective response!Original 3 star review: I ordered the caesar salad with chicken. It consisted of 2 whole romaine lettuce heads with pulled chicken and VERY hard croutons. Minimal dressing, not tossed.I asked for more dressing, but really didn't care for the unique flavor (as nice as I can put it), or having to cut my own lettuce. The overly hard croutons didn't help the experience and couldn't tell if there was any cheese to garnish it (this is Wisconsin isn't it?)Sometimes a classic just shouldn't be messed with too much, the pulled chicken and whatever was used to spice it was out of character for this usually solid go-to...Saving grace was the nice live jazz, but the drink (Old Fashioned with Bourbon and service were lackluster). Not sure if I'll return for a swim at the Lake(ly) anytime soon...
Great food, great service! But lousy for martinis. No stem glasses! And the gin and vodka selection is awful. Give us a Ketel One and a Tanqueray, please! And $13.50 for a BAD martini, c’mon!
Excellent service, delicious drinks and food with refreshing ingredients! Atmosphere is very nice and relaxing overall.
It has a small menu but the food is amazing. Also loved the live music show on the weekend.
Our favorite place to dine. Great drinks, atmosphere, and the food is always delicious.
If you are looking for a more upscale place to eat in the Eau Claire area with great food, great service, and great ambiance this is the place for you!! My husband and I had our dinner date at The Lakey - I had the Wild Rice Pesto Pasta and he had the Klatt Farm Burger. The presentation was beautiful, and the flavors were delightful. The Lakely also has a variety of fun cocktails to pair with your meal. We will definitely be back! Do yourself a favor and make it a point to check out this EC gem!
Tight menu, especially for dinner. The brunch menu is a bit more expensive. The food was good but nothing spectacular, same with drinks. The koldtbord is a must though and so the options were great
One of the best burgers I’ve had. Beer menus was just right and the Gunpowder IPA was a perfect offering. Very intimate and aesthetically pleasing with wonderful attention to detail.
The lakely is such a cool place to dine! The ambiance is lovely and the drinks are delish. However, my last visit was very underwhelming. I ordered the pesto pasta and it was the most bland meal I've ever tasted. My friend ordered the burger and fries, which she said was good. Our server was friendly but we waited 20 minutes from the time she took our plates for her to return. We ended up asking another server for our check and they quickly informered her that we were waiting. Will return but I seriously hope they either improve or remove that dish.
We were looking for an "upscale" dinner for a special weekend, and we found it! Limited menu (we were disappointed that pasta entree was sold out,) but that meant that each choice was carefully chosen and prepared. Great customer care by our server, Morgan. Craft cocktails were unique (Getaway Car, Miles Away, Toast). Appetizers were devoured (Lakely Fries & Chickpea Fritters). Entrees were delicious (Klatt Farm Burger, Cedar Bee Chicken Breast, Local Beef Selection=roast with fingerling mashed potatoes). We didn't stay for the live jazz music, but setup look promising. Restaurant was very upfront in masking policy and in tipping policy. Yes, menu prices were high, but owners are committed to paying well above minimum wage without tips. We tipped 10% even though not required.
